Before I forget this funny joke I'm gonna tell it here before I sleep. Hehe.
Audrey was trying to open a glass jar just now. And then she asked for my help. So I tried with bare hands, with my T-shirt and then finally with wet table cloth. But, all failed. Then after a while this is our conversation:
Me: Bring it to the lab to use Bunsen burner to heat up the cap a bit so that it's easier to be opened lo...
Audrey: Nevermind la. Just leave it.
Me: Oh I know how liao! Blow your breath on the cap la.. Then the warmth can loosen it a bit.
Audrey: *Sweat*
Hehe.. I think it's a funny cold joke.

A new phase in life unwinds
I woke up with a headache today. Actually lights off and in the bed at around 11.30pm last night. But because of an incident which I still have no idea how it happened which made me related it with some spooky and ghostly thoughts. Plus the stress level built up with the thoughts of going to a new place seeing many new faces and new tasks the next day, I just can't sleep despite shutting my eyes tight to trying to force myself to sleep.
I guess it's also the stress that put me into endless nightmares the precious night before the first day of work after I finally managed to sleep. It was about me only reporting myself to the new job 2 days late. And in the dream I went to my previous company on the day I am supposed to report to the new company. And on the second day, I went to the previous company also, then around 5pm on second day only I realized I am supposed to go to the new company. Then I got panicked. And I woke up with the fear of losing this new job before I even worked for one day. The day started with some unfamiliar-ness and ended with less unfamiliar-ness but I know the stress level is never going to abade.
It's a very different exposure for me. But I'm sure I'll be able to learn new things here. Fingers-crossed that I can cope it well.
So its curtain is opened right in front of me. The new phase of my life.

My order =) It's called blitzer or something like that, a Russian pancake cuisine.
That same night, went to had another round of food hunting. Went to Kuchai Lama for their famous Fish Head Soup Noodle with Yumin, Adam and Jia Yaw. Thanks Yumin for the good recommendation.

It was already 9pm but the restaurant was fulled with people. We had to wait for seats when we reach there.

Jia Yaw, our coordinator in IW last year and Adam

Adam nd Yumin

Me and Yumin

The soup and the fish head were incredibly tasty. This restaurant is a must try. Price for this Fish paste fish head soup noodle is RM6.90. Yumin, Adam and Jia Yaw ordered Fresh Prawn fish head soup noodle which is RM13.90. They said its worth the price.
I forgot to take the picture of the restaurant shop front.

Here's the picture of the shopfront taken from http://www.ahmok.com/
According to Yumin, this area is a new place in Kuchai Lama, called Kuchai Enterprenour.
Gonna sleep already. Nights. More pictures coming up on Gunung Dato' when I'm free and have enough energy.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
By the way, here's one cold joke I read on the bubble tea I bought today.
有个人很机车,然后他被人骑走了。
冷.....
It's in Chinese and is only funny in Chinese. Cannot be translated. I had a good laugh when I saw it. Luckily didn't choke by the pearls.

I ended my old phase with packed schedules which I won't regret the time and energy put into each one of them. I think somewhere out there the Almighty has planned to let me meet all my friends and join all the activities I've been dreaming to join before I start my new phase.
Went back to hometown for literally less than 2 days. It's been two months since I saw my parents and my bro. And I was enjoying every moment of the family reunion. When was it that the 4 of us go out and have supper together? When was it that the 3 of us ease ourselves in the room and had some light chats? I will remember the sweet feeling during the reunion. Not sure when I can see them again. Sob.. Miss my family already.

Me and bro
Had IW camp staff training and met up new faces and know more about Raleigh and the committees. Learned something which I think is really useful in life - debriefing. In another word, debriefing is like helping one to search of their inner self and lead them to their own understandings in improving themselves. In a simpler word, it's called motivating people. I find it amazing to be given the chance to learn this. And having to motivate people motivates me. =) I had a trial on debriefing that day and was not doing well coz I have problem in leading the person to their inner answer, or should I say I can't even get hold of the underlying problem they were facing. Debriefing is a new thing to me. And I think its challenging. And I'm gonna go for it.
Met up my girls (except CP) that same afternoon for Hin Kian's birthday celebration in Paddington House of Pancakes in The Curve.

Just something
One of the reasons I like Subang

The very western country-like Persiaran Murni. I always have the feeling of serenity when driving on this road.
High expectation is always coming from good intention but the stress level is going to be high as well. Hmmm. How to act as if I'm high class? *insert dry laugh* This is already posting a certain stress level.

Confession to mum and dad
I'm so touched by myself.
For all these years I had been spending my parents' money. I constantly asked for money when I needed them for shopping when I was in college.
When I first started to work back in last year September. I told myself that I will stop depending on my parents. I don't want to burden them anymore. For 6 months I had been spending on my own without asking for money from my parents again. Until last month. Last month I was financially unstable again because of the car accidents. I got some financial aid from my parents. And dunno why for the first time of my life I feel bad taking money from my parents. I'm gonna save some money and return to them as soon as possible. I feel that I'm giving hardship and more burden for my parents. I don't like the feeling.
Mum, dad. Sorry for not being able to give you some pocket money every month ever since I started working. You always say you have already feel the relief when I can take care of myself financially. But, I don't think that's enough! I want to make you both live better. I want you both to live way better than what you both are having now. I will try my best to earn more money, save more money and start giving you some pocket money. Now only I know that earning money is hard. And I didn't even think twice before I spend your money. Sorry for being an immature daughter for so many years. How I hate that me back then. I will try to pay back every cent I have wasted. Sorry.
Now that I've suddenly "awoken" from my childishness, I will promise you that I will do my very best to make you both live better. Mum, dad, your daughter has grown up now. Hehe.. Am so happy that my thinking has changed so much. That's why I said I'm touched by myself. =)

Wesak day fun-raising
Went to Wesak day carnival in Bandar Utama hosted by the Bandar Utama Buddishm Society (BUBS) today. The main purpose we go there is to try my boss's char kuey teow. According to my boss, her char kuey teow has gotten good comments from the customers for years. =P I was very curious. So BU we went.
Thanks to Google Map, we managed to find the place without getting lost in the residential area. lol.. I'm no longer direction-blind. =P
The crowd:

A young lengchai scout posing to the camera. lol

The hearts. One Ringgit One Heart:

Pay 3 hearts and get an ice kacang

5 hearts for a coconut

5 hearts for 1 rojak

6 hearts for my boss's char kuey teow

My boss. =) She's so cute with the apron. She's cute all the time one la. hehe..

My boss's char kuey teow. It tastes great!

Coconut drink is the best remedy for a hot day like yesterday

Val and I with our thirst-quenching desserts.

With Jaa Yien.

Hunching. Have to change this habit already. hehe..

I donated some for the Myanmar cyclone victims. I think Myanmar victims need more help than China victims because Myanmar government doesn't help the victims while China government is putting in a lot of efforts to help the China victims. I pity Myanmar residents more. Really hope my donation can end up in the victims hands. Sigh. Fingers-crossed.

These drawings brought back memories. Memories of the drawing competitions I joined since I was 5 or 6 until 12. The memories of running around in school compound with my brother after the drawing competition ended and before the prize-giving ceremony.

Put your hands together and utter some prayers.

Taken by Val using my K510i. hehe.

Lady in charge with collecting donation funds.

Cute little flowers.

Free Buddhism books and CDs

Baskets for sale. They were really tempting to me. haha. But I dunno what I can do with them after I buy them, so I didn't.

Some politicians came too.
All the food, baskets, flowers, drinks are for fund-raising purposes. I think they also held the purpose of fun-raising too. =)
By the way, I think I should update my swimming training progress. Hehe. So that I can trace back next time.
Last Friday night, I did a 300 m swim (but no timing that night), 50m swim 50m chin tow (took me 3 min 13 sec) and 50m swim 50m cross-chest tow fully-clothed (no timing required in the exam).
Then Sunday night, I did 100m swim (took me 2 min 15 sec, which is 135 sec), 300m swim (7 mins 10+sec), 50m swim 50m extended tow (3 min 12 sec). Practiced double-retrain tow with victim struggling but failed to stay afloat when victim started struggling. lol. Then practice chin tow and cross-chest tow for a while. Ok with chin tow but a bit odd with cross-chest tow, feel like sinking when I do cross-chest tow.
I need to push myself for the 100m in 100 seconds part, double-restrain and cross-chest tow. The rest should be ok.

Sharing Jay
Today is really a long day. I woke up quite late around 11am, try to find something to pass time but the time is still ticking very slowly today. It's very contradicting. When I have not enough time I hope there I would have some time to rest. But when I have one whole day to spare, I'm wishing the time can pass by faster.
Had been watching Jay's MVs over and over again.
From 我不配, to 不能说的秘密, to 借口, to 夜曲, to 退后, to 枫, to 浪漫手机 and then to 最长的电影, to 蒲公英的约定 and to 甜甜的. Watching the love stories over and over again. The love stories made me feel like reading 网络爱情小说 again.
Share with you the MV of 最长的电影 (the longest movie) by Jay. When I watched it in Jay's concert I didn't realize the girl was actually blind. The story is sad...
Song and lyrics written by Jay. And MV directed by Jay also. All by himself.

Moodswing rants. I bet.
This is gonna be a long weekend. And I'm determined to avoid shopping malls (except going out with Val and Jaa Yien on Wesak day to farewell Val) because my pockets are close to emptiness. *insert dry chuckles*
At this time around when I'm so poor already, I'm still forced to service my car and lose my RM103 to the car service because it was already 1000km more than the expected service distance.
I told Heng that luckily nowadays my entertainments are swimming, blogging and reading. I'm feeling so lucky that my entertainments are free.
Last time I enjoyed shopping with friends, buying tiny little hp hangers or clothes or hairbands in shopping malls. Or watching movies. But shopping and watching movies cannot satisfy me anymore. I mean I no longer gain euphoria from purchasing fashion gadgets. And no longer like to waste time and money on those comedy romance movies that we laugh and cry and then eventually forgot about the story lines.
I'm actually still grieving over the money spent on watching "Ah Long Pte Ltd" in cinema. Nay. Never mind. At least I still treasure the timelaughing with my girls. I canceled the laughing part because the movie didn't stimulate my funny bone a lot. I wasn't very impressed actually. The jokes are too lame. I still prefer "I'm not stupid". It's more meaningful comparatively.
Talking about funny bone, sometimes I wonder what happen to the Miss Lame who likes to tell lame jokes and laugh at every lame jokes she heard. I don't find lame jokes funny anymore. Or I should rephrase... I don't find normal lame jokes funny anymore. Those lame jokes that I can come up with can't entertain me anymore. Adam explained "that's why comedians are always depressed". Maybe he's right. lol.
Back to the entertainments. Am not sure whether it's because of old age or the lack of companions, I find myself entertain myself mainly through solitaire entertainments like swimming, blogging and reading. Maybe mainly because friends are busier with their own lives and we will always need to make appointments to find a time to hang out together. In the end, I ended up looking for my own ways, without the need to arrange time with others, during free time.
But of course, I'll still be thrilled when friends called up and ask for yamcha. But now, I would enjoy talking sense than nonsense with them. I now enjoy sharing opinions on life, courage, choices, career, commitments, feelings than exchanging lame jokes which send colds through my spines. Sometimes I'm sad that I've lost my funny lame bones, unlike last time where I can create lame jokes in every conversation which gave Aud and CP flocks of crows. But sometimes I do tell some joke unintentionally when people could laugh at my jokes which no longer have its magical effects on me.
When was the last time I laughed until my stomach cramp? It's long time ago. Months I bet? I think maybe this is called the process of growing. I do hope that growing up won't take my funny bones away though. Who says being matured should be stern and serious all the time? Argh.. I wanna find my funny bones back.
Maybe this is just a moodswing day of a lonely, money-less, infamous blogger/research officer who has no idea what is wrong with herself today. Ha-ha. And that's a dry laugh, of course. No stomach cramp kinda laugh anymore.
Gonna end this picture with this moody post.

A moody monkey. Like me.
p/s: Gonna go swim out the moodiness. Ciao.
Add-on:
Went to swim with the target of swimming 1km without much resting. Swam breaststroke for 300m, then had a sip of water from my bottle at the side of the pool. Moved on for another 300 m more with mix breaststroke and freestyle. Had another sip of water. Then had a turbo 150 m freestyle, resting for 1 minute every 25 m.
After the freestyle turbo, I felt like giving up. But when I thought of the satisfaction after I achieve the 1km target, I pushed myself on. This time did it very slowly for another 250 m. About 20 meter before I reach the target, I was smiling to myself, wide and satisfying. =) And the euphoria feeling of the self-satisfaction was indescribable! And it is still keeping my spirit up. =)

A continuation on Jack Canfield's "How-to" book
This post is to continue from the previous post I had written last month, also extracting the important points from "How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be" by Jack Canfield. I think he'd written a very motivational book. Hope this helps. =)
So after you have picture your dream in your mind when you close your eyes and now that you have positive thinking already, you cannot just continue dreaming and don't do anything about it. So this is the continuation of the previous post on taking actions, overcome fear and ask for what you want. =)
1. Take action, NOW!
Nothing happens until you take action. Take action now! Quit waiting.
Quit waiting for the perfect timing, someone's permission, the absence of risks, more self-confidence and etc. There is no such thing as perfect situation. So, do it now! Take a leap. Take action and take it now. Do you want to be safe and good, or do you want to take a chance and be great? If you want to be safe, you won't take the risk, and how are you going to achieve what you want when you don't even take action to reach for your dream?
2. Don't let fear fail you
Most people let fear stop them from taking the necessary steps to achieve their dreams. If you avoid the uncomfortable feeling of fear, you will never get what you want in your life. Every time you face a fear and do it anyway, you build up that much more confidence in your abilities.
3. Ask. You won't lose anything
Ask for what you want. Jack said "You never have anything to lose by asking, and because there is something to possibly gain, by all mean ask." There are few tactics in asking for what you want.
(i) Ask as if you expect to get it. Assume you can get it. Don't ever assume against yourself.
(ii) Ask specifically and clearly. The specific amount of money you want to save, the date and time you want to spend time with your parents, the specific action you expect from you love ones.
(iii) Don't give up when you get a 'no' from what you ask. Keep on asking - even the same person you are asking - you might get a yes after several times because people will reconsider your request. This might be a rare case I think. But if you failed getting what you want from this person, ask another person then. There are over 5 billion people in the world. Someone, somewhere, sometime will say yes. So, when you get a 'no' here, say 'next'. According to Jack, those who succeed reject rejections. Losers gave up after few attempts.
I found some good examples that in this book about how successful people reject rejection and keep on asking without giving up:
(1) Abraham Graham Bell who offered the rights to the telephone for $100,000 to Carl Orton, the president of Western Union who said "What use would this company make of an electrical toy?"
(2) Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page approached Yahoo! and suggested for a merge. At that time Google was still not well-known. Yahoo! suggested that the young Googlers keep working on their little school project and come back when they had grown up. So, they were rejected. But now Google is so well-known that everyone is using it.
(3) John Creasy, a popular British mystery writer, was rejected 743 times before he sold his first book!
If you keep asking, no matter how many times you get rejected, you will eventually success.
That's all I've read up to. Still left a quarter of the book. Hehe. Stay tune. =P
P/s: I think I need to improve more on these. Somehow I still assume that I will get rejected by any scholarship programmes I apply in the future and hence I don't even take the initiative to apply for them. Have to re-programme my negative thinking already.
Reflection - the interior-designed hotel
Was reading Pink Pau's blog. She put up the photos of the very nice hotel in Bangkok she mentioned in her blog.
According to her, this hotel, called Reflection, has 30 rooms and every room has its own unique interior design! And the designs are so OMG-ingly good! Every room is carefully designed.
I really like to see interior designed house one lo. When I was 8 or 9, I would go dig out those interior design magazines my parents put in the shelves and flipped through every page. In that young age, being very naive, I even use a pencil to tick the designs I like. Hehe..
I still like to see interior designs now. hehe. So I went to the website of the hotel and check on the designs of every single room. Hehe.
Then I found this very soothing and relaxing room, Room number 211 =). I want my future bedroom to look like this!

I think this room is a bit Jimmy styled. I mean 几米 the one who draw illustrations if you know him. I think it will look nicer if the flowers are replaced by some other simple yet sophisticated drawings. =)
You can go see other designs in the hotel website here. Have fun =)
