Very busy weekend

The weekend was full of schedules.

Friday:
Morning - Go find Zhuang. We went to shopping at Pavillion! Had lotsa fun!

Night - Had dinner with Woan Ying and Audrey at Pappa Rich, Sunway Pyramid. And then we went to drink herbal tea at Gong Wo Tong. Had fun too! Received CP's birthday present from WY. It's cap again. lol. This year I've received 2 caps plus my previously own cap, it's 3 now. I seldom wear cap one.. Hope I can find some reasons to wear cap one day. lol.

Saturday:
Morning - Early morning around 7am woke up. I thought my alarm clock was kidding me waking me up so early on Saturday (i.e. 6.45am). Then only I suddenly remembered I promised Dennis to fetch Raleighians to campsite from IYC. I had to reach IYC at 8am. Luckily it was not very late yet. I drove pass the roundabout to IYC, U-turn back, called Marble for direction 3 times but he cut off my call. I was damn panic that time coz I seriously dun remember how to go IYC already. Then gave up calling Marble, called Vincent instead. He gave me the direction but I thought I overdrove again so I took a U-turn. Then later he pointed out that actually at the U-turn there it's the turn to IYC. =.=" I so wanna kill myself. So I look for another U-turn to turn back, mana tau I took the wrong turn and got myself into the residential area of Taman Cannaught. I started crying. Sobbed for 5 minutes while driving coz I was totally lost. I didn't know where I was. I called Marble again thinking his house is sorta near this area maybe he know the residential area. Mana tau when he answered the first thing he said was "SHIT! I forgot about the camp! Bye" So I called Vincent again but I couldn't tell him where I was. Then dunno how I turned back to Kesas and saw the familiar burial place beside the Kesas Highway. Thanks god! And I found the roundabout later. Following Vincent's direction I finally managed to reach IYC (before Marble... lol). Thanks to Vincent so much!

Whoa. My got-lost-in-Cheras story so long one.

So, I fetched them to the campsite, got to claim RM20 from Dennis for the petrol cover. And had fun helping them carrying things to the campsite (coz they were lacking man power), setting up the tent and helped Dennis take water with jerry can from the stream nearby. Awww I miss jungle so much! And I miss Raleigh moments so much! Miss being in a team. And I'm definitely regretting for not joining the long drop digging... I've never dug one before... But coz I'll be too late for Mei's tuition already and summore I've promised mum not to get into jungle during rainy season. Since I had already entered the campsite which sort of broken my promise, I felt bad and dragged myself away from the campsite after a small discussion with the Raleighians. I left around 10 something.

Afternoon - When I was back it was 12. I was damn tired. Tired actually from the non-stop walking on Friday with Zhuang in Pavillion plus carrying heavy stuff to campsite from that morning. Didn't opt for shower. =P Slept for an hour then went to give tuition to Mei. Taught tuition for 3 hours! It was already 6pm. Then after that Mei showed me a lot of Korean MVs and I watched with sleepy eyes. lol.

Night - After urging Mei to finish them up, I went to Pyramid to buy Yenny's present (coz just got request from Toh Theng to buy her present when I was at the campsite I guess). It was about 9 when I reached Pyramid. When I'm done buying the bag I straight away headed to pay the parking ticket. But I was too tired I didn't notice the note on it saying "This machine only accept RM1 notes". I fed it with RM10! My RM7 was gone! I thought it's the machine failure, so I walked all the way to the carpark helpdesk to claim back my RM7. They told me actually that machine only accepts RM1 notes. Luckily they were willing to pay me back the RM7. Thank goodness! When I'm back I feel like dying already.

Sunday:
Morning - Woke up with aching hand muscles due to carrying the things to campsite (too long never exercise that's why so lousy...) Fetch Audrey to Monash at 7.40am. Then came back and got myself prepared for Bak Kut Teh breakfast in Klang with Yenny and Toh Theng. Had breakfast until 9 something and went to Taman Pertanian (Botanical Garden) in Shah Alam. We were lucky. Before we headed for the Taman it was raining, but when we got down the car the rain stopped. We reached there at around 10am. We took the free bus to tour around the Taman. We visited the paint ball place, fed some Tilapia fish and got to touched them with my fingers and them biting my fingers, took some pictures...

Afternoon: And then we went for sky trek! We joined Yenny's cousin and friends which made 15 of us. The game was damn fun! Flying fox looked so scary to me last time but now I think it's the easiest obstacle of all. Coz it totally need no energy. It was no longer scary now coz I know that the carabiners and the harness were very reliable. Climbing the stairs to a platform on the tree was the hardest. My hand ache when I was not even halfway climbing up. And second hardest was walking on hanging poles. The poles keep swining left and right making it hard for me to step on them. Although I had already secured myself to the rope above me and summore with the harness safely wrapped around my butt, I still feel scared. What if I lost grip on the poles and I was hung by the harness and I can't pull myself up to continue with the journey? Oh, I'm just being negative. Coz actually I can pull myself up one. The strings would help.

Before the trek I put my handphone in So's locker. But during the trek she left earlier coz she had to bring her niece and nephews to tuition. So my handphone is with her now. Tomorrow only can get back from her. I feel so weird without my handphone by my side. And when my handphone is not with me only I feel it's so important.

One more thing I lost during the trek was my buddha bracelet. It broke off when I was walking along a net obstacle. The bracelet brushed against the net and broke off. Have to get myself another one soon. I feel weird not wearing a buddha bracelet on my wrist now. Maybe I'm too used to wearing it already.

Since my hand memang already aching this early morning, the sky trek didn't add any pain to it anymore. lol...

Oh I love sky trek! Wanna go for more challenging one next time. =)

Copy cat plan

There's a Popular Book Fair at Summit USJ recently. All the books there are 70-80% discount. Some children books are even RM1 each! The books there are not organizely arranged and dusty. But if you're lucky you can find good books by renown authors.

I went there with Get Pei on Wednesday. She found 刘庸 and 村上春树's books.

I wanted to find a book about the history of 康熙, a great emperor in China. But I didn't have that luck. I found 三国演义 though. It's as thick as a dictionary. I had always wanted to buy a detailed 三国演义 book since I had already read the 'light-and-easy' version which is just about an inch thick. But the book I found was Book 2. Book 1 was no where to be seen.

In the end I grabbed these books.

And a Korean learning book.

I feel like going again to try my luck again before it ends.

2 days ago I suddenly had this idea of mimicking photographed photos by drawing with hand using oil pastels (crayons).

Erhem... Anyways, I'm gonna start from simple one first coz lately very busy with work. Don't really have time but I still crave for some leisure. =P

Went to BioMalaysia on Thursday. Visited Vivantis booth and my coloured agar plates. =P

They hanged them on the Christmas tree.

Went to shop with Audrey last night at Pyramid.

Took some pictures of the clothes I tried on. Hmm, I guess this is not against the law right? Taking pictures of the clothes in changing room... I find it easier for me to decide which one to buy after taking the picture and reviewing it again and again after I left the changing room.


My eyes look different. Looks like I applied eyeliner. In fact I only applied foundation and lipstick. That's my eyelash I guess. =P


And hey! I still look chubby like last time lo, no? Mum said my face slimmed down a lot. I dun see that here. I bought this piece. I have very few long sleeve clothes in my closet. The weather is getting colder and the lab air cond has been working very well, too well till my T-shirt is no longer keeping me warm already.


Ignore my retarded expression. This piece looks very very nice on me! But I didn't buy it. Coz it's RM110, out of my budget. Secondly, I won't wear it often if I buy it, can't wear it to work also... But feel sad I didn't buy it... =(

Then went to Kitchen (I'm sure the shop name doesn't spell like this but I can't help calling it Kitchen whenver I wanna shop there) to try on some clothes too. Actually this shop sold very nice Korean style lady jackets but after trying these jackets just don't fit me. They look way too big for my size.

My purse dripping blood

Today I stepped out of my house and tried to start off my car engine. But the car didn't budge. Instead, it triggers the car alarm. =.=" And my remote couldn't even off the alarm. The car was not responding to the remote control at all. I felt so hopeless standing beside my car demanding it to stop the alarm. I know it's silly. Cars don't read human language. My neighbour peeked out of her door checking what was happening. I gave her an "I have no idea, sorry" look.

Luckily my housemate was still at home, still yet to go for work. She drove me to a workshop nearby, I left my name and address and we came back. She went to work while I sat at the living room waiting for the repairman to come. It was the battery. My car battery was dead already. Upon changing new battery the car suddenly can start already.

Then I thought it's done. But that's not all.

The repairman said my generator (alternator) was weak. He said generator is a part which supplies energy to the battery (my mechanical knowledge is very weak, I'm not sure whether I understand it correctly). Since the generator is weak, it means I have the risk of having my car dead in the middle of the road half way driving. I imagined myself stuck by the roadside looking for someone to tow the car for me. This is always my nightmare. So, after juggling between my already depleting money and the danger and trouble, I decided to pour my RM380 out to change a brand new generator to secure my safety. Adding up with the car battery it costs a total of RM600!

Last month I just changed 4 wheels and 2 rear absorbers which cost me RM800. If I have to spend few hundreds on my car every month I guess I'm gonna bankrupt soon. And I dun like the feeling of getting financial support from my parents. Sigh, I should start learning how to be financially independent already. In fact I have always been receiving financial support from my parents. Coz I haven't even have the ability to pay installment for my car every month. Who says working in lab has high pay? Nobody says.

Now thinking about it, maybe I should stop my Korean class after this level and used that money for the car installment. Sigh.. I hate being an adult where responsibilities are more important than my personal interests. Sigh.

Recently had been addicted to a fiction I just bought.

The Host.


It's about a very kind and peace-loving alien which stays in a human body. Although initially the humans thought she will be a threat to human beings but after a while people started to accept her into the human community and treat her like family. It's a very heart-warming, focusing more on the emotions among family members and friends than on alien world.

I love food.

I prefer hunting for great food out in the town than making myself though I can cook a bit.

I love the Asam Laksa in PappaRich, Sunway Pyramid. No wonder there's always a crowd in the restaurant.


Thick and strong fish taste in the broth. Not very sour but spicy enough to send tears to my eyes. Very delicious I would say.

Next time I wanna try more food in this restaurant. Not a professional food review blogger. But, I'll share any nice food I tried here. =)

I cooked a meal when I was back at KT. Mum cut everything for me when I was out in the town. When I'm back everything was nicely cut and I just had to cook.




Soup with tomato, sotong, taufu and pickled vege. I totally didn't add any flavourings coz the pickled vege already gave enough.

I made them in agar plate (the plate we normally use for bacterial culture)


Nice right the colourful pattern in the agar? This eventually gives purple colour.


This is not for lab use. Just for deco only. Not for fun la.. They have their own purpose.

I really like the combination of the bright colours lo. Look so refreshing! =)

Bahagia

Recently I'm easily feel touched by my girl friends (especially Choo Peng and Cheng Yee). The care they gave me and the conversations make me feel I'm loved and I'm remembered. =) I feel so bahagia (I dun like to use the word 'happy' to mean 'bahagia' becoz happy can mean many things)

Recently I also feel bahagia that I've been contacting my brother. I know this sounds weird but last few years we haven't been contacting each other (maybe I was not caring enough). But recently I started to initiate some conversations and it was getting better. =)

Actually I feel like hugging people lately. Very long time never hug people already. What to do, I haven't been home for 5 months. And I can't just go around and hug my friends coz I dunno whether they will like it. I know Audrey definitely dun like it. So there's nobody I can hug at home. Sunway home, not the Johor one. I like to call this place home because I hope from calling it 'home' I can make this place feel more homy. This is a sad story about a child away from home. Alright, continue with my story. I just want a bear hug from a friend coz it makes me feel warm. Miss the hugs Wey Yiing and Ching Wan gave me years ago when they came back from overseas. Nevermind, this weekend I'm gonna get to hug my parents coz I'm going home! =D Can't wait!

Comforted by a stranger

Last night I slept very soundly. Was it because of the cooling weather? Or because of the comforting dream?

I dreamed of resting my head on a guy's shoulder and he was patting my head softly. It was a guy whom I've never seen before but in the dream I felt that he's someone very close to me and someone I trusted. That pat on my head gave me a peace in mind.

Even though I slept exactly same hours like normal days but last night I slept extraordinarily soundly. I can still feel the comfort he gave me although I dunno who he is. lol...

Maybe watched too much Korean drama already. =P

I just cut my hair. Was planning to just trimming it. But when the stylist suggested shorter, I was curious how would I look with even shorter hair.

Now my longest hair is just 2 inches longer than my ear lobe and the backside hair is very short and bobbed. I like the zero weight feeling on my head.

Still having stomach pain. It has been troubling me since last Friday. Another tragedy of food poisoning. Sigh... But it's way better than last time, vomiting and all.

It's really funny lo.. But it explains the slogan very well. Haha..

P1 had been advertising it's potong thing for about a month about the broadband services.

Then last week I started to hear radio playing very similar advertisement about potong too. But it's from Streamyx. Who on the earth is so creative lah? lol..



This is just for laugh. Am not bias to any party coz I never try P1 before. Can't judge P1 connection. But Streamyx is currently not allowing me to watch PPStream (too slow until requires 30 minutes to load 1 minute of the total of 1 hour drama), that's a big minus for Streamyx from me.

Wanna write a review on Station One Lunch Set.

Had lunch with Toh Theng last Friday at Station One Taipan. The last time I had meal at Station One was at SS15. I had their Chicken Chop Set which was just so-so. That time I told myself if wanna find good food never go Station One.

But I forgot about it last Friday and stepped into the 'trap' again. I ordered curry chicken rice set (Set 3)



The curry was tasteless. The drumstick texture was like those of chicken breast, hard and dry. The rice was hard as if it's not fully cooked. Although they're kind enough to serve a bowl of soup which I haven't drink for long time. Was quite surprised at first but the taste of the soup disappointed me. It's just salt and MSG soup with pieces of some lotus roots sitting at the bottom of the bowl. Toh Theng totally can't figure out what soup it was until she saw the lotus roots.

It tasted worse than the Chicken Chop I had last time. Gosh. Can't believe they still can open so many branches selling meals.

The beverage that came with the set was nice though. It's called 3 layer tea.

It tasted like the brown sugar + coconut milk + concentrated milk syrup in ais kacang. I never know beverage can taste like that. Yummy! But if the aroma of the tea can be increased it will taste better I think.

So, moral of the story is. Never take meals in Station One. But if wanna go for yamcha, station one beverages are good. I personally like their honey milk which is very soft to my taste bud but at the same time can satisfy my sweet tooth. Hehe.. Their Strawberry-Apple-Orange juice is nice too!

Beware of whitening products

Have any of you tried Olay Total White cream? (This is not an advertisement la. lol..)

I've used it few months ago and found that upon application of the cream it instantly brightened up my skin. Initially I thought maybe after washing it off my face will turned back to its original dark complexion. Out of curiosity, I washed my face after applying it the face still remain as fair!

After applying it for a week my face complexion is far too fair as compared with my neck (I was lazy to apply it on the neck sometimes. Teehee) Everyone who met me exclaimed that I became fairer and I looked nicer. So I was really in love with this product. Summore this product is dirt cheap, only RM3.90 for 20g. Without second thought I used it everyday and when it ran out I bought new ones to continue using it.

Lately it's used up again and I wanted to buy a new one to top up my stock. But when I went to Guardian I couldn't find any on the shelf! So I bought myself Olay White Radiance instead. After that I had been wondering what happened to Olay Total White? So I went to Google up for this product. Couldn't find whether it's banned or something. But found a NST news article I found from Malaysian Babes Forum about several whitening products being banned from the market due to the presence of hydroquinone and mercury in the products.

Research shows that high concentration of hydroquinone might cause cancer. Furthermore, it also can cause irritation to the skin. Mercury can cause liver and kidney damage.

The article opened my eyes on the active ingredients in these whitening products and pushed me to read more on the activities of these compounds in the melanin production pathway. There are several active ingredients used in whitening products: non-toxic ones such as arbutin, vitamin C, glycyrrhetinic acid, kojic acid, melanostat and retinol, and toxic ones such as hydroquinone and mercury.

The functions of most of the these compounds are ultimately similar, that is to inhibit the production of melanin which is responsible for the darkening of the skin. As compared to hydroquinone and mercury, the non-toxic compounds are way more expensive than the toxic compounds (Quote from the NST news "Thailand sells for about US$20 (RM70) per kilogramme of mercury-based ingredients or hydroquinone, compared with highly concentrated licorice extract, which sells for about US$20,000 per kilogramme".

This struck me really hard. If hydroquinone or mercury salts is RM70/kg, 20g of the compound is RM1.40. And the Total White is RM3.90 for 20g. Hmm.. looks like it... I better throw it away.



Note: This is just my simple guess. I can't find any proof that Total White is banned from the government.
