Something funny and interesting

Today went to Sunway Pyramid for dinner with Audrey. Before Audrey reached the mall, my phone battery died. I had to communicate with Audrey to meet her when she got there. Urgh.. My phone always run out of battery when there's important stuff! Hmmpph!

Luckily Pyramid has this machine which allows people to charge their battery. I always saw this machine hiding at the corner on the way to a washroom at the top-most floor near Adidas (New wing orange atrium there). But, I've never tried them.

So, this time, with full of hope and anxiety, I tried to charge my battery with the machine.

It's really easy.

1. Press the last 4 digit of your hp number
2. Press open/close button at the top part
3. Throw your battery in (hehe.. not throw la.. Place it properly)
4. Press open/close button again
5. Throw in RM1 worth of coins
6. It will then start charging
7. Go somewhere shopping around for 5-20 minutes (Don't worry, nobody can steal your battery because they need to type in the 4 digits before opening the feeder)
8. Come back and press the 4 digits
9. Press open/close button and collect your battery

Isn't it easy?

After dinner, we went for grocery shopping at Jusco. And something shocked me.

A sanitary pad which can be washed? @.@

What you mean by "easy to wash"? That's so unhygienically gross! Eww!

Antistress kit

I had been hybernating in many many things since this June. Zero trekking, zero blogging and then followed by zero exercising, not even yoga and I count the one and only swimming session as a leisure, not exercising.

I don't know what had I become lately. It's so not me! I totally transformed from someone who do regular blogging and someone who had so much passion about trekking, to someone who can live without them. I don't even know who I am now.

But, right inside, I feel contented with what I had achieved so far from July till now. I've learned a lot from my new job. Gained more insights about this cancer research thing. Have higher confidence about myself. Frown more. Worry more. Become a not so happy-go-lucky person I used to be. Now think about it, I haven't been really cheerful since the day I took my job. I've pushed myself too hard.

Everyone in the lab ask me how am I. Maybe my face tells everyone I'm not ok.

What in my brain is Keep up! Keep up! Don't lose track! You've always wanted to work in this field. Now you've came this far, you can't ruin it with your own hands. You have to do whatever you can to make yourself excel in this field. You don't want to regret in the future right?

So, when I started the new job in July. I started to read journals at home. But because I was really stressed out, the words just danced around I couldn't catch a word. My brain was frozen. I managed to read some, but I found myself absorbing more info from journals when at work. Sometimes not even effective during work time. I quit yoga because I was so stressed I didn't feel like walking out of my room, left alone driving 20 minutes (45 minutes if there's a traffic jam) to the yoga centre.

And in August. I basically just sat in my room, being stressed, but most of the time staring at the Facebook homepage, doing nothing. Or sometimes wasting my nights away watching Korean drama when I knew there's a pile of journals waiting for me to read.

In September, I feel I'm more settled down. My frown is still here. But I feel myself being more capable to handle it. I'm catching the suitable pace for myself. Although not as steady, sometimes still wobbly, but I'm getting the pace. Some time in November I guess I will be alright.

My supervisor kept asking me how am I coping with the work. Every time all I could say was "I need to keep reading to make myself keep up" and she always gave me that nod which gave me the impression of her being skeptical with my interest in this job and my capability in my job. Which therefore made me yearn to do this really really well. I want to show people that I can do it, really really well. Hence, the stress. Sigh.. And when stress governs my feeling, I can't absorb anything from journals, my mind got tangled up.

I like my job. I like the challenges coming to me. I like the anxiety when things when wrong and I like how we have to deal with the problems. But possibly the way I deal with things in my new job is still not matured yet, hence the skeptical look from my supervisor.

So much grumblings going on here. lol.. It had been piled up since July and I finally vented that out. =P

Ooo! Here's a kit which can relieve stress! lol

Blissful weekend =)

Last weekend had been blissful. =)

Went for monthly meet but turned out Kuna's mum was admitted to hospital. So the first aid class was canceled. We then went to have dimsum at Jalan Ipoh while having a short meeting about updates of Raleigh. Wasn't really awake by then (summore me need time to warm up to break the ice to the outer world one.. lol), so most of the time I was dreaming during the meeting. Muahaha..

Then some of us went to kayak after the meeting at Taman Titiwangsa.

(Tanning themselves under the noon sun)

And I went to fly kite beside the lake they kayak with Pipo and June.

Then after kayaking, they had their kayak team photos.

And then we take group photos of the kayak and the kite. =)

(I like the way I look here. Muahaha.. looks like Ko Mi Nam in the Korean drama, I mean the hair looks like her. =P)

Kayaking is a very tiring game. I'd have to dry yourself under the sun and after kayaking you have to pour the water out of the kayak and carry them back to the storeroom. They are damn heavy wei!

Have to rest the hand from time to time to carry them back to the storeroom which is about 200m from the lake.

And then I had fun joining the nonsense talk in Zed's car. =)

-

Then Sunday I went to sing K with Kexin, Adam and Jia Yaw. Kexin came back from holiday from Japan. Miss her so much! But not as much as Adam la. Adam missed her so much that he asked me twice to arrange a meet up with Kexin. lol. So there we were, in Redbox singing Bad Romance by Lady Gaga and only remembered the "Rawr Rawr Oh la la" part. lol. We had lots of laughter thanks to joker Adam.

But Redbox was really tricky. They only let us sang for 2 hours which dampened our moods a lot! So we continued chatting about everything at Full House. Again we were dampened by the very yucky drinks. They said my mango milk shake tasted the worst which resembles the smell of toilet fragrance. The last time I went Full House I had bad experience with the food also. So, if you all wanna have good food DO NOT go Full House!! But the good about Full House is that the interior is so beautiful and we can take picture with the glasses displayed there. (Will put up the pictures as soon as Kexin upload it in FB, if she does).

After Jia Yaw left, 3 of us went to take picture with the crazy bar-like glasses, some shades, some ties and Adam with a bra-tube in front of his chest. Muahaha. Adam was very attractive that day. Two waitresses blushed when they saw him. One when ordering the food and one when taking photos of him wearing the bra-tube. Then 3 of us squeezed into the changing room and had loads of crazy photos like Adam showing his muscle, us acting like models. lol... All those tiny little crazy things made us burst us into laughter. =) We had fun in there. (Awww.. I really wish I can see how the photos look like. hehe..)

I love those crazy moments.

-

Then afterwards I went Zhuang's house to give tuition. After tuition and dinner, we chatted and took funny photos, again. But this time was by my part time photographer cousin. And there I got my Bruise Lee look photographed and photoshoped by him. Thanks so much JC! I love this photo so much!

I'm a very lousy actress lo. Kept rolling on the ground laughing when Zhuang and Mei started laughing at my facial expression. This is like the 3rd or 4th take. =P

I was supposed to imitate Bruce Lee when he says "ATTA!!"

After that Zhuang reminded me that my T-shirt says "Explain to me AGAIN why I need a boyfriend". Plus that expression on my face, it looks like I'm extremely fed up with people asking me "Do you have a bf yet? Why still not yet have bf? Get one la..." (especially during CNY....). So the photo says "ATTA!!~~ Ask me again and you'll be ATTA-ed!" lol... Kidding.

Me like this weekend!

I attach one song here la. Say Hey (I Love You) by Michael Franti. Very relaxing song! =) I like this genre. Go check out the MV in Youtube, it's very simple and cute. =)

Lion dance fail

Gong Xi Fa Chai!! I know I'm late. But, according to the Chinese religion, I'm not supposed to celebrate Chinese New Year ma. So this year actually I totally can't feel the CNY mood. Not many angpows coz I cannot visit people with the purpose of CNY.

So, yea, actually I wanted to upload the video of the lion dance we had in my company yesterday. But the line was very slow. Maybe I should try uploading it overnight? How about that? Hehe. This lion dance is not a normal one lo. It's not an outstanding one either. I would say they are very very not professional. Have you seen two lions talking to each other when performing? lol. And even other person in charge also speak something into the lion's ear when they were performing.. Hrmph?? And worst of all was the lion fell down when it was trying to eat the angpow at the front door of my company. =.= I know the ceiling was very high la. But it was my first time watching a lion falling down during a performance.

My CNY holiday was a very plain one. Most of the time I was sleeping. lol. Too many mosquitoes needs my donation at night, around average of 5 mosquitoes every night. So the next morning I felt like I've never slept the night before. So after tahan for the whole morning helping my mum with the chores I slept through the afternoon after lunch time until dinner time. lol... Since I didn't need to do any visit, most of the time I just stayed at home ma, stay at home nothing much to do, no PC, ma sleep lo.

Here's the short video of Lion Dance Fail. Have Fun!

(This video is finally successfully uploaded after "incubation" overnight. =P)

Check if you're pretty =P

Ladies always want themselves to look pretty. And every lady believes that she is pretty (unless that lady has very low self esteem). Today I saw a news article about scientists found a new golden ratio for female facial beauty.

It's:

36% = distance between mid iris of the eyes and mid of the mouth/face length x 100 [Vertical]

46% = distance between iris of the eyes/face width x 100 [horizontal]

So theoretically one who has these ratios would be a perfectly pretty chick. Hehe.. But don't be so sad first... According to the research, if one want to be closer to the perfect ratio, one can use different hairstyle to achieve it (e.g. using fringe to cover some part of the forehead). Jessica Alba, Liz Hurley and Shania Twain are found to have these golden ratios.

Jessica Alba

Liz Hurley

Shania Twain

Being one of the girl species who has too much self esteem on her own look. Keke dun puke la. I admit that I'm highly satisfied with my face sometimes. Oops.. I mean most of the time. Although sometimes I would think I look like a guy.

So, being one of those confident girls, I measured my face and calculated the ratios.

For the vertical ratio I measured from my hairline to my chin instead of from below my fringe though.

I found that my ratios are:

Vertical ratio = 34.39%
Horizontal ratio = 45.71%

Hey my horizontal ratio is not bad!

But the vertical is a bit off. It means my face is slightly longer or the distance between my eyes and the mouth is slightly shorter. I can't change the distance between the eyes and the mouth. So, I calculated backwards to see how long my face should be to get the 36% ratio. In the end I found that my hairline should be 1 cm lower.

But, when I cover that 1 cm length from my hairline with my hand my face didn't look better though. lol.. Maybe it's the distance between the eyes and the mouth then. Hmm.. So I can't change my hairstyle or remove the fringe to make myself look 'perfect' then.

Nah.. It's just 1.6% difference. Nevermind. I still look awesome. Kaka.. I told you I'm confident with my face. =P

Copy cat plan

There's a Popular Book Fair at Summit USJ recently. All the books there are 70-80% discount. Some children books are even RM1 each! The books there are not organizely arranged and dusty. But if you're lucky you can find good books by renown authors.

I went there with Get Pei on Wednesday. She found 刘庸 and 村上春树's books.

I wanted to find a book about the history of 康熙, a great emperor in China. But I didn't have that luck. I found 三国演义 though. It's as thick as a dictionary. I had always wanted to buy a detailed 三国演义 book since I had already read the 'light-and-easy' version which is just about an inch thick. But the book I found was Book 2. Book 1 was no where to be seen.

In the end I grabbed these books.

The translated version of "Chew on this: Everything you don't want to know about fast food"
And a Korean learning book.

I feel like going again to try my luck again before it ends.

-

When I was walking back to car park with Get Pei we saw this:

Is this a graffiti competition? It's so cool! And one thing both me and Get Pei agreed on is that Malays are better graffiti artists than Chinese. =)

-

2 days ago I suddenly had this idea of mimicking photographed photos by drawing with hand using oil pastels (crayons).

Some people had already done that. These are some examples I found on the net:

Uhmm.. I thought I was the one who could only think of mimicking photographs.

Erhem... Anyways, I'm gonna start from simple one first coz lately very busy with work. Don't really have time but I still crave for some leisure. =P

I'm gonna start with this:

Simple and nice. Hope I won't ruin the drawing la.. hahaha..

Will post up my drawing once I'm done.

여러분,기다리세요!! =)
(Means: Everyone, please wait!!)

My colour plates were in BioMalaysia

Went to BioMalaysia on Thursday. Visited Vivantis booth and my coloured agar plates. =P

They hanged them on the Christmas tree.

Can you find my plates? =) There were plenty hanging up there, with assorted colours.

Here's my most favourite orange colour plate =)

-

Went to shop with Audrey last night at Pyramid.

Took some pictures of the clothes I tried on. Hmm, I guess this is not against the law right? Taking pictures of the clothes in changing room... I find it easier for me to decide which one to buy after taking the picture and reviewing it again and again after I left the changing room.

My eyes look different. Looks like I applied eyeliner. In fact I only applied foundation and lipstick. That's my eyelash I guess. =P

And hey! I still look chubby like last time lo, no? Mum said my face slimmed down a lot. I dun see that here. I bought this piece. I have very few long sleeve clothes in my closet. The weather is getting colder and the lab air cond has been working very well, too well till my T-shirt is no longer keeping me warm already.

Ignore my retarded expression. This piece looks very very nice on me! But I didn't buy it. Coz it's RM110, out of my budget. Secondly, I won't wear it often if I buy it, can't wear it to work also... But feel sad I didn't buy it... =(

Then went to Kitchen (I'm sure the shop name doesn't spell like this but I can't help calling it Kitchen whenver I wanna shop there) to try on some clothes too. Actually this shop sold very nice Korean style lady jackets but after trying these jackets just don't fit me. They look way too big for my size.

Something like this:

It's not practical to wear this in Malaysia la. But the jacket looks so cute!

I tried on this piece of dress.

A bit hip-hop style. I like the bottom part but the top singlet part is a bit too plain.

Mei showed me this MV after our Chemistry tuition.
