Viva done... What's next?

I'm back. Viva was not good. The moment I sat down, Dr Robin started to give comments on my grammar mistakes, specificity of my info, relevancy of my explanation and even say my thesis was not very scientific because I din put in the picture of the colour solution in test tubes. It took me about 30 minutes or a bit more. Then, Dr Lim said nothing much to ask and comment oredi because everything had been discussed by Dr Robin. Dr Lim just asked one question and that's it for my viva. And it took me 45 minutes. In conclusion I din do well. =(

Guess I cant sleep well until the results release. Still feel stress after every assessment ended. Haih...What to do... All I can blame is my own carelessness. Always so careless.

-Standard 1 mathematics exam also. The whole last page din answer becoz I was too careless I din know there was another page.
-I always lost my notebooks.
-I lost my handphone and purse.
-I forgot about dinner appointment with a friend.
-Many times I missed what I should do on that day.

Too many careless history because I seldom revise what I should do next in my mind and I seldom do things slowly and with caution. All the time I had been blaming for having a lousy brain for my carelessness and my bad memory. I even suspected I have Alzheimer. But, I guess there are few reasons for this unknown "disease":

(1) It's something which I dun really care
(2) I was focusing on something. And, so I paid less attention to another thing. So, I missed it or forgot about it.
(3) The thing that I want to remember involves name and numbers. Very bad in remembering names and numbers

I always thought I inherited this memory skill from my mum. But, I think it's very much due to lack of practice. Next time should train myself to remember loads of things.

TIME TO CHANGE!!

===================================================================

Was thinking of putting in nerve cells when I talked about Alzheimer. But, I found some fancy nerve cells which I think it's a modified graphic version of nerve cell (not those seen under microscope). Here's the comparisons:

Graphic nerve cell 1 (Wah....so beautiful...looks like a city in the future)

Graphic nerve cell 2 (Wah...looks like forest with blue fire flies)

But actually, the real nerve cells look like this:

Looks like roots only actually....

Viva-phobia

Tomorrow is my unofficial last day in uni. My viva is in the afternoon and after that I have completed my project and what left for me is the day of execution (the results). Haih... I'm really scared.

Will be uploading many photos of a day trip to Kampar yesterday (went to visit my grandparents at the grave at Ipoh). I like those old 1920s buildings in Kampar. Will be posting them tomorrow after my viva.

Till then. Wish me luck.

I just read a very heart-warming blog. I think it is heart warming because the author (about 24 years old) is very patient with kids. He was taking care of his 3 years old nephew. He said he finally taught (train) the kid to sit still while eating. When he thought his nephew is very obedient oredi, someone asked his nephew to introduce himself, the kid din give any response to the answer. So, the author taught the boy to confront these questions after the incident. The boy just stared blankly at him. I guess the boy just dun understand y must people ask him such questions. After many trials the boy finally answer to these questions.

Gosh. This guy is so patient with kids. I always think a guy with a fatherly characteristic is attractive. Really wanna give him a thumbs up.

This is the blog website: http://carlo_ang.blogs.friendster.com/my_blog/

I really like his blog. Very educational and spiritual. Maybe that makes his blog a featured blog.

Bankrupt oredi

Just came back from One Utama and The Curve. Me and my roommate left hostel at around 10.30am and waited for the shuttle bus until 11.10am. Then, the bus took 40 minutes to reach One Utama. So, it was almost noon then. We took lunch (RM14) and started to shop. I bought 2 lingeries (RM10 each), a liquid eyeliner (RM18.91) from sasa, 1 shirt (RM49.50) and 1 pants (RM59.50) from Padini Authentics in Padini concept store.

Then, we took taxi to The Curve and continue shopping. I bought a pair of crystal earrings (RM6) and a shorts (RM34) in the flee market. Then, had striploin steak at Marche Movenpick Restaurant which cost me RM34.50. After that, I told myself no more shopping. Window shop only. But, I bought a RM60 white skirt in Nichii. After Nichii we were very exhausted oredi and my watch showed 8pm. No wonder my feet was burning painful.

After I include the taxi fare, the meals and the items I bought, it costs me RM313.85!!! Gosh. I'm gonna eat grass the next few days. =(

This is how I console myself: "I din shop since mid April PC fair. So, once in a while is acceptable la... summore those are the things in need (except the bras, the shorts, the earrings and the eyeliner la)."

Pengsan....

New K320i

Yeay. My mum helped me to book a new K320i from her friend. She'll be passing the hp to me on next monday. Cool! But I have to pay for my careless mistake lo. So, I would have to pay for the hp with my own money. RM320 is a big sum to me. But, it's ok. Graduating soon, so shouldn't use parents' money for extra things one. I say extra because my dad is willing to give me his Nokia 1110 because he seldom use handphone. But, I don't like the handphone and Nokia tend to give out more heat after long conversations compared with Sony Ericsson. So, buying the new hp is considered extra.

I've been trying to make the table nice oredi. This is the best I can do. Haha...Dun mind the thickness of the table lines please. I dunno how to deal with it.

By the way, K320i nice right? This is why I choose to buy a new K320i instead of using the 1110. I know I'm wasting money. But handphone is something I will use most of the time. I'm more choosy when it comes to handphone. Since K320i is quite cheap compared with other sony ericsson hp, it's still acceptable la. Cant wait to see my new K320i =D

Exam de-stressing suggestions

I guess all Monash students are very stressed nowadays. Especially when the exam is coming soon. I found some tips on how to de-stress and how to keep our body healthy during exam period on the net. Hope this can help:

(1) Exercise!! - can increase learning efficiency

(2) Shower more

(3) Meditate

(4) Listen to soothing music

(5) Consume more vitamin C (more fruits!! to release stress), vitamin A (to improve memory), banana (to boost self-confidence), lemon (for high energy), chew on peanuts (make you feel less tired). Dun eat too oily or hard food because it will burden your digestive system.

(6) Dun simply eat sleeping pills because it will affect your short term memory

(7) Prevent improper de-stressing ways:

-destructive (beat people up, cut your own wrist, bang your head to the wall, throw your book)
-drugs, cigarette or alcohol
-over-eat
-wild shopping
-hide from the reality (sleep more than normal/ over-do Number 1 to 3)

Mourning for my K320i

I lost my hp!! It's a new Sony Ericsson K320i model. =( It's so new I just get to used to the functions and the keypad (because my previous handphones were all nokias). And I only bought it 3 months ago.
I miss my K320i =(

Harry Potter and the Bubble Tea?

Cham liao… These few days I kept craving for bubble tea from my school cafeteria before my exam. So I thought to myself it’s the pressure that makes me addicted to the drink. So, after exam, I persuade myself not to buy any bubble tea anymore. At least stop for one week. But, I’m craving for it again. Gosh. What should I do to cut it?

==================================================================

Harry Potter 7th book is coming out soon. I’ve already marked down the releasing date. It’s 21st July in UK and US. I guess it should be the same for Malaysia. I’ve read a lot on some hints given by Rowling in Wikipedia. Some main characters are dying. I wonder Harry, Ron or Hermione will die or not. Please don’t die. Dumbledore died in 6th book I already cried like hell. And I read that the flying car and the mirror will reappear in the last book. A lot words and stories I already forgot. Like horcrux. What’s that for again? Haha. Better read back the last 6 books before I proceed to the last book.

This is the cover of the last Harry potter book. And the title is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Don’t know what it means.

Melodi lyrics

MELODI - 林宇中 & Sheila Majid

作曲人:林宇中
填词人:林宇中(中文歌词部分)
Sheila Majid (马来歌词部分)

(S)代表Sheila Majid
(宇)代表林宇中

(S)KAU MELODI YANG INDAH
MENUSUK DI JIWA
TANPAMU HIDUP KU TAK BERMAKNA

(宇)多么实在的感觉 望著你的脸
这一刻 我到了被人遗忘的永远

(S)PERTEMUAN YANG TANPA DI DUGA
(宇)像迷路的人找到回家的路綫

(S)ENGKAU BAK LAGU DAN AKU BAGAI IRAMA
(宇)BERSATU KITA MEWARNAI HIDUP BERSAMA
(S)TANPAMU HILANGLAH NADI KITA BERDUA
(宇)MENDERITA TIADA HALUAN
(合)窝在我心里最动听的 MELODI

I never thought Malay and Chinese can fuse into a song and can be so nice. And Sheila Majid's voice is so nice it blends well with Lin Yu zhong's voice.

Proposal presentation (checked)>Assignments (checked) >Final presentation (checked) >Thesis submission (checked) >Exam (checked) >Viva

What I have done after my honour’s year exam?

Before the early exam, I slept for 5 hours. It might be sufficient for some people, but definitely not for me. My eyes were very sore but because of the exam I had to force my eyes open. I had no problem in opening my eyes when I see the questions. It was a real shock to me. Fabulous questions. But, very tricky. It’s all about how to apply the knowledge on a case study. I know Prof Song’s style of giving questions. But, after all the hustle, I forgot about my prediction. So, I really dun know how to answer the questions. So, simply answer only la. Hope I don't screw it up.

After the exam, my eyes had gone back to sleepy mode. Feel like going back to take a nap. But, I planned to go Monash new campus to unpack my lab glasswares. I actually planned to walk to the new campus one. But, Yun Ying helped me ask around whether there were people going to new campus by car. So, she got Boon Min for me. And, she tagged along too. Thanks Yun Ying. Boon Min, thanks for the ride so that I don’t need to melt under the sun. Hehe…

I took several pictures of the new lab in the new campus. The corridor is very long. Looks like those seen in hospitals in spooky movies.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And, the scary thing is that every lab looks the same. I mean the arrangements of the equipments (fume hood and laminar flow, bench and cupboards).

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

After returning all the glassware to Mr Chuah (about 2 big boxes but I din take the pic), I went into Prof Song’s lab to look for YY. But, ended up chit chat and take pic with Boon Min.

After that I thought I was in Mr Chuah’s lab. So, I waited there for YY. Dun laugh, it’s all the lab’s fault. They look just the same!!!

After found out that I was in the wrong lab, I went to Mr Chuah’s lab. There, I chatted with Mr Chuah, YY and Yik Ling about job hunting for 3 hours!! I think it’s either Mr Chuah was too lonely there or we were too happy that the exam’s over. Haha…

These are some other pictures that were taken in new campus.

Wai Khay (YK??) doing lab work

Then, came back hostel, watch Korean game shows and laugh like I’ve gone crazy. It was funny la. Somemore my roommate went back to hometown. So, I was alone in the room. I can laugh louder. Hehe…

Then, I went to yamcha with Adam, Keen, Yumin and her friend. Adam said he become darker than me after the expedition. I always tease him he looked like Lee Jun Ki (李准基) the Korean actor in the movie “King and The Clown” (王的男人). So, I was very curious how Lee Jun Ki looks like after becoming darker. =P Dun angry ah Adam. Hehe. But, after seeing him, he’s not very dark la… Same like me only ma. I not very dark also. Muahahaha…. Remember Leo Ku last time in 神雕侠侣very fair looks like drug addict. After tanning, he looks healthier. Tan is nicer for guy. Not for girls. [sob sob]

So, last night although Yumin and her friend wanted to sleep early for today’s Jogathon, we cant stop talking. This yamcha session took us 4 hours!! My goodness. I’m sure it’s definitely not me. Muahaha… (Whisper: It’s adam)..hehehe.. Sorry YM and JY. I hope you girls don't sleep during the jog.

Yea…His expedition experience was too interesting that we cant stop but listen. Especially the part where he cut his own hand with parang and the numb expression when he told his leader that his hand was cut. I can imagine how funny it was. And the 40 minutes boat trip to clinic for a stitch for the hand cut? That sounds really scary to me. And the ghostly walking speed of the local jungle trekker at night while looking for water. I still doubt whether Adam was conscious enough to confirm that was really a human. Ngek ngek… A lot nonsense and funny stuff la.

And we discussed about the tampons. Haha… Yea, I got a general knowledge question for you GIRLS who are reading this post. Guys, if you are interested with tampons, then carry on, else please skip these paragraphs with green words. This question is very engineering to me though. If a girl is wearing a tampon and go for scuba diving, will the deep water pressure push the tampon in? I was thinking, the porosity of the tampon might compensate with the pressure but is the tampon porous enough to stand the pressure?

Don’t think somewhere else la…This is a very technical question. We were thinking what we can do to prevent this. And Adam’s cracked us with a crazy answer. Attach the tampon to a string and sew the string to the diving suit. Haha.. Laugh until I almost roll on the floor man. So, have you got the answer? I found Googled for the answer and found a site which confirms that tampons can be used during diving.

"Are Tampons safe to use while diving? There is no evidence that tampons or any other intravaginal objects are in any way dangerous from the effects of increased pressure. Not being a closed space, it does not suffer the effects of Boyle's Law." (Cited from Kristy Allison http://www.scubaboard.com/archive/index.php/t-73251.html)

Seriously, I think this tampon subject will help those people who like to dive. But, girls, for your own safety, better confirm with either pharmacist or the tampon manufacturer first before using it (Because I don't really believe non-journal articles)

Ok. Forget about tampons. After yamcha, we took pictures outside 1st station café at the roadside.

(Adam look like hamsap lou...and me and keen looks like retard...hahahahaha)

Keen was hugging the lamp post when getting ready to take the second pic. So, it ended up all of us posing 钢管 pose, including Keen. Muahaha. But the lamp post was too far from me, so I can’t pose. But, pictures still not with me yet. Will attach here after I get it.

Finally I had a proper relaxing day. Not to forget there's another coming end of this month though. It's the 15% left, viva. 30 minutes Q&A and that's all for my honours year. Better read up my thesis these two weeks.

TVXQ =D

TVXQ is a Korean boy band growing famous these few years and had reached it's peak now. I started to like them after watching them in Korean game shows like "Love Letter", "Mind Concentration" and "Yashinmanman" where they reveal themselves more. Then, I find them talented in many ways and are very modest even though they are famous.

I personally like Micky Yoo Chun more. Dunno y. haha.. U-Know also nice. He's a good leader and he's good in breakdancing and braking.

Here are some of the TVXQ pics

Pictures

After being adviced by one of my 'student' MK and read through Kennysia's blog (kennysia.com), I've decided to put more pics in my blog. After exam, I'm going to post as many pictures as I can in previous posts to make it more interesting. And to show you guys how my room's air cond looks like after being "destroyed" by mua. Muahaha... (Praying hard that the hostel management people don't see my blog)

Till then, I better study for exam on this friday 8.30am, sienz....so early... one more day for me to study. Aja aja kambate!!!

My hair

Yeay...Finally my hair had grown long. Long enough for me to straighten it. I cut my hair short in Jan 2006. And regretted it. Was trying to grow it back to the previous length.

Before cutting, my hair look like this.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

After cutting,

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Then, exam came and the long fringe kept poking my eyes and it was driving me crazy. So, I cut my fringe short and I thought it's nice. But, now I think I look like idiot.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

After that, I found that the hair was ugly and idiotic. Finally, I decided to grow it back. The intermediary phase needs patience because the hair was too short for me to tie and if I don't tie it up, I look like someone from the 70's. Yea...It was very frustrating.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Finally the fringe grew long enough for me to tie it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And then, when my fringe grew until it touched my cheeks, I cut it again. Haha... Wanted to style it a bit ma...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Hopefully it can grow back to the previous length before mid June (which is quite impossible) before I go for straightening. =D

毁灭战神

Finally the odour in my new room had gone. The air cond is just right on top of my bed and blow right towards my study table. So, I tried to adjust the horizontal and vertical swing manually. In the process of adjusting, I accidentally plucked off two plastic chips from the air cond (the horizontal swing). Yea... JC's going to call me Destructive Queen again.

This reminded me of few years ago when I was in Form 2. The toilet flush in my house is those tall one with string attached to a knob, where one can pull it down to allow the water to flush down. So, one day, I went to toilet as usual and as usual I pull the knob after I've done my business. The next moment I realised was that the knob was in my hand and the string was broken into half. After that, my dad bought a steel one to replace the string. That's when I got the nickname given by my cousin JC 毁灭战神 a.k.a 毁灭女王(pronounced in Cantonese) which means “Destructive Queen" in english.

Oh ya... and back to the air cond. Since the two chips had been detached, there's a hole whereby the direction of the wind could not be controlled and the cold air blow straight down to my bed. Feel like I'm staying in Genting whenever I sleep. Very cold...

New room

Having less than one week to study for the exam, I still had to move my room to another block. It took me from 12.00pm to 6.30 pm to finish the moving part and 10pm to 12 am to unpack the stuff. So, in total, 8 hours are gone.

The first time we stepped into the room. The smell was terrible. Like having sweaty clothes hung in the room for ages. Guys… We opened the window to dilute the smell. Now the smell is still there but milder.

We are moving out 1 month later because graduating by then. So weird. We will have to move room again next month. Sigh. What to do. The hostel management people want to make the whole block girl’s block and another block guy’s.

But overall the room is ok. I like the bathroom because the door is fully covered. So, we are safe.

From the moving room experience, I learn that:

1) Dont trust the management ppl, they lied
2) when they said they will look into ur problems, they dont
3) Moving from one unit to the other block is not fun at all
4) there are something that i cannot do by myself
5) continuously shifting for 7 hours is worst than shopping for 12 hours
6) the guy's unit has a higher shower head, which i can hardly reached
7) Guys born in 80s are not gentleman, not all, but most
8) Those ppl offer help are all uncles

stressed

Very stressed after getting back the feedback on my discussion from one of my supervisor. A lot of questions need to be answered. But, those are parts where I really can't find an appropriate answer. Sigh... Can't I just leave the answer to experimental errors? Sigh...

Menstrual cramp

I was half dead this afternoon.

Every month I will tell myself I'm not going to be a female in my next life. Many people don't understand what some of the girls have to face every month. Yes, I mean menstrual pain.

The pain is like a leg muscle cramp. But the big difference is that it's abdomen which cramps, and the pain is continuous for hours (whole afternoon for me). And leg muscle cramp can be soothen by pushing the feet inwards, but abdominal cramp cannot. All I can do was just lying sideway like a prawn and that definitely cannot sooth any pain. Massage doesn't help. Sometimes pain until sweat.

I just feel like my lower limbs were tearing away. It is always impossible to walk properly or even walk when the abdomen twitches. Sometimes I will feel dizzy if I force myself to keep walking. The most serious experience was that I'd fainted before in the public because of the pain.

My mum told me she had also gone through this and she always feel that she had survive from death every month. I agree. But I really don't like being tortured by the nature. Sigh...What to do...

Because I'm a girl... =(

Job hunting

I've cancelled the plan of going to expedition. My family needs me. I should start earning money to help ease my parents' burden. Looking for job now, science-related ones. Hopefully can get one in Singapore so I can earn double. Hopefully can get a job starting August.

Tuesday, May 1, 2007

Is it because July is getting closer? I'm starting to miss him more.
Thesis submission date is coming so soon, followed by exam. Shouldn't have think so much about him. Concentrate concentrate!!
