Hahaha.. I've heard there's a video advertisement on a biotech product on youtube. Then I looked for it on youtube. It cracks me up! Biorad is so creative! Summore the singers are good! (This is not an intention to advertise for Biorad PCR machine. Just some personal sharing with friends. hehe)

It's pretty messy there coz I dun have enough containers to place the junks. Those beside the non-woven wardrobe are junks I seldom use. I'm going to bring back hometown bit by bit. Oops! Forgot to close the wardrobe when taking the pic. Very messy..

Sui yang one

My dreams had always been 'interesting' most of the time. They are always like Amazing Race or Survival. In most dreams I have to run away from some enemies or monsters or ghosts.I never got caught in any of these dreams (am very good in hiding in my dreams. lol) but the disappointing thing is that the dreams never showed what happen to me in the end. Another type of dream is I have to run towards/ looking for some checkpoints in some sort of survival games, always feel the triumph when I passed every checkpoint.

Last night I dreamed that I was chased out of a big bungalow (which in my dream is a house I had just taken over from someone). Then an old lady who looks like the stepmother in Cinderella (whom I took the house from) chased me out and then for some unknown reason she came to chase for me. So I ran around the house compound looking for chances to get into my house. lol.

The compound suits my taste very much. Haha. It had a round and clear swimming pool, a small garden with some flower beds and wooden bench painted white. And the compound has small path lined with assorted pebbles. Everything in the compound are mainly in my favourite colours: light pink, white and soft yellow (except the pebbles, of course, which are in various grey and white colour). Aww.. How I wish my future house to look exactly like that! hehe.

Recently I am having this habit of saying "sui yang" (it's translated into Chinese from Cantonese "soi yeong" aka 衰样: normally for scolding people who is not behaving well). But, I applied this word into every aspect. For example:

1. She very sui yang one, always tease me.
2. This machine very sui yang one, always break down.
3. Sui yang, it's raining now... (I hate rainy days)
4. The birds very sui yang one, everyday shit on my car! (Which really put on my nerves, I always have to wipe the shit away. Grrr... )

Then one day, I heard my colleague sitting next to me started picking up my "sui yang" words. lol. So sui yang. hehe..

Shifted house

Hey folks! Sorry I haven't been updating my blog for SIX days!

Actually I was shifting house from USJ to Sunway on Sunday. I only manage to set up my PC on Tuesday. It was a dread to me not being able to go online for 2 days! Plus these few days the connection hasn't been good.

Guess what? I went nuts when I could not find the power cable linked to the CPU when I was setting up the PC. I went searching in the whole (new) room but couldn't find it. But I remember I had cleared the old room in USJ before I left the room. I was frantically telling my mum that I could not even switch my PC on without the cable! Then my clever mum told me that I actually can use the cable we use for rice cookers. I quickly ended the conversation with mum and tried it with the rice cooker cable. It worked! When the screen came alive I almost danced around my PC worshipping the rice cooker cable. lol.

Wednesday night went to a motivational talk in Damansara which was pretty enlightening. After listening to it, I feel more courageous facing problems in life. Grab some of the great lines I got from the talk:

1. We get what we ARE, not what we WANT
-meaning: what you get in your life now is actually a reflection of you character and behaviour. So you are the one who is fully responsible on the incidents around you, good or bad. Which is quite common sense isn't it?

2. The future will be the same if you dun change yourself
-So start changing today into a suitable person (more confident, cheerful, wise, determined) in life fitting into the requirements to get what you want in your life!

3. Master your mind, don't be mastered by your mind
-Control yourself from being slacking, being low confident, moody etc. because we are the one who should control our mind and deeds, not our feelings.

4. This too will pass
- This is a sentence you should always tell yourself when you are in bad times. Because bad times will pass. And we must not forget that good time will pass too.


And a confident person will tell him/herself that

"The world is a better place because I'm living in it"

Inpsired by Raleigh again

Just came back from Raleigh International Regional Conference. I went to the International Youth Centre (IYC) last night. Then had a cuppa with our own Raleigh KL people and Raleigh international delegates from Raleigh UK, Raleigh Hong Kong, Raleigh Sabah and Raleigh Borneo. Had a fun chat with Sham - a 40 years old man who still treasure the moments he went through in his expedition back in 1987.

I met great people like Stacey Adams our Raleigh CEO (from UK), Jim Clements the Country Director for Sabah Expedition from Raleigh Borneo (from UK), Tom Tong the Raleigh Hong Kong president (obviously from HK), Gary the Raleigh China president, Daniel from Raleigh Singapore and presidents from Raleigh Sabah. Most of them are way past 30 years old.

Oh by the way, does anyone of you keep wondering what is this Raleigh thing? Last night Heng's mum called me. And we chatted. Then I told her I'm having a cuppa with people from a youth development organization (didn't tell her Raleigh coz Raleigh is not very famous in Malaysia. I want to save time from explaining what Raleigh is). Then she asked "Is it a Christian cell group?" I was like.. hmm.. I have to go explain what Raleigh is anyway. lol.

Folks. If you want to know what is this Raleigh thing which I had been repeatedly talking about in my blog (coz I can't help it)...

Raleigh is a youth development organization
which helps young people age from 17-25
to not only learn about team work
but also inspires them to search within for their own abilities
because when one is pushed to the limit only one can find their hidden abilities

Raleigh emphasizes on charity programmes such as community services and environmental causes. The expedition venturers work on government projects such as environmental sustaining /research and community (building school, bridge, water gravity system in a rural village) which is a collaboration between Raleigh and the Sabah state government. We not only have Sabah though. There are also expeditions in Costa Rica & Nicaragua, Namibia and India. And for your information, Prince Williams also joined this expedition before. He went to Chile. You know when I start loving Raleigh? That's when Vic, our dinasour (senior) told us about his expedition experience. "We thought we could not finish our project in the expedition. But in the end not only we reached the target but even achieved way more than what we expected. Always remember you can achieve more than what you expected." This line, can be used in our daily lives too. And since then I keep telling myself that I can achieve more than what I think I can.


Raleigh pushes you to the limit.


And when you had been physically and mentally strained by these heavy workloads, you will know how much more you can push yourself beyond your limit. (Photo taken from a Sabah expedition in Spring 2008, they were building a bridge for the villagers)

Last night I guess I've pushed myself to the limit because I have zero idea how to go to IYC. I drove there alone last night at around 8pm. I got lost 2 times. I took a wrong left turn at first to Bandar Tasik Selatan which resulted me U-turned to the opposite road. Then I drove all the way back to Sri Petaling and made a U-turn and then went back to the right direction.

This second time, I called up JY for directions. Having false direction from JY, hehe, I went all the way straight on Kesas from Subang towards Cheras expecting a Cheras toll. Half way driving I found that the signboards along the road no longer showed Cheras nor Bandar Tun Razak, but Ipoh, Kuantan and Kajang. I was so panicked. Found a U-turn and went all the way back (highway very hard to find U-turn one) and then U-turn again to go back towards Cheras again. lol.. That was a scary night. But luckily after that I manage to find IYC (The last part of JY's direction is genuine. hehe)



Last night I prepared for the exhibition board until 4am. Which explains my sleepiness now and body-aching all over because of lack of sleep even though the IYC has good hotel-like beds. Sigh. Tonight I'm gonna sleep very very early. And I mean it. And lotsss of water. Anyway, we, the exhibition set up team, were very satisfied with our exhibition boards that we created using polystyrene board and a green silky cloth which was really difficult to secure its position on the board. Will put the photos of the boards up here when I got the photos.

I was most of the time dozing off during the conference presentations. lol. Those videos of expeditions and Raleigh HK's marathon programmes kept me awake. They were really motivating to watch.

Yawn. So tired and tomorrow I have to move house. I'm gonna get some sleep now. Tomorrow morning only pack my stuff. Hehe. Nites!

My Best Friend's Girl

I'm so hooked to this book. My Best Friend's Girl by Dorothy Koomson.



It's about how a 32 years old lady taking up the responsibility to adopt her best friend's 5 years old daughter after her best friend's death. The author describes the narrator's grief very well. And it always bring me to tears when Tegan, the little girl makes her learns to open her heart bit by bit.

It's a very touching chick-lit. It tells a lot about a mum's worries on her children, so much till I feel the stress from the heavy responsibility of this superwoman who has to work and take care of Tegan.

Another thing that touched me is the zero race boundaries between the narrator, who is black, and the little girl who is white and the man who loved both the narrator and the little girl very much who is a white too. It makes me fantasizing about the world full of love without racial discrimination and trusts among different races.

This book made my days! =)

Hairstyles for 2009

Hmm. I googled for the 2009 hairstyle trend. And guess what I found?


There are 3 types:

1. Short - Pixie style




2. Long - Straight and silky




3. Long - 70s wavy hair



Which one should I try le? 3rd one I definitely don't need to change anything to my hair already coz my hair looks fluffy like the most right hand side picture. Hehe.

Pixie one is quite impossible coz I have thick hair, I might look like I'm wearing a helmet when having that style (unless, according to Audrey, I go trim my hair every 2 weeks)

Silky one is quite tempting to me. But I had that last year already. Having back the same silky hair will be quite boring, isn't it?

The most drastic change will be pixie hair, but it's sooo short! I might need to think twice. Hmm...


Which hairstyle I should I choose? I want to have a new hairstyle in 2009 =) Any suggestions?

She died...

I made a very stupid mistake. It was on Tuesday.

I accidentally poured half an icebox of ice water onto myself and flooded my front lab coat pockets. The nightmare was that my handphone was in my front lab coat pocket!! So it was as if I gave my handphone a shower. A cold one.

I tried to dab it dry. After that I just put it on my lab bench and continue my work. I didn't switch off the phone coz I thought it was dry. When I went back to look at my phone, the screen was dim! As if it was sending me some signal telling me "I'm dying..." So I off the phone and expect it to be able to be switched on. But when I tried to switch it on the screen showed nothing. It's just black. And blank. Tak rak. Illek. Mei You. Kosong. Obso. =(

I then put it in the oven to dry it for 30 minutes. After that can on la. Was so happy! But I dun dare to on it too long. Scare the electric board will get electrocuted even more. So I switched it off again and waited for the clock to tick by.

I left work at sharp 5.30pm and rush to the nearest handphone clinic (handphone shop) and requested a first aid on my phone. No sign of water was found inside. Handphone doctor adviced me to take out the battery and leave it dry for 2 days, then only see whether it's spoilt.

So the final moment has come. I was able to switch the phone on! But I can't press the important buttons like "Cancel" and "Back". So whenever I want to go back to the main menu I will have to switch off the phone and switch it on again. Summore, I set this phone to auto-lock long time ago. So, now whenever it autolocks, I can no longer use the phone coz I can't press the unlock button! And I can't even switch off my phone when it's locked! I have to remove the battery straight from the phone and put it back to switch it back on.

Argh.. I need a new phone. I'm gonna miss this phone. =( It's very handy and I'm already used to holding it. And, and I'm used to typing sms with it without even looking at the keypad.

I need a phone. Oh gosh. I'm broke. I'm getting a cheap one this weekend.

Sunburn from kayaking

Humph! It's a busy and tiring day!

All these kayaks had to be carried from the storeroom which is 100+m away from the lakeside. Summore some of the kayaks are very heavy. My arms are aching now because of this (not because of kayaking)

It's my first kayak experience. We had a kayak guide who taught us how to paddle and the hand signals for kayaking. Everyone is listening to the briefing except me who was dozing off. Hehe.

Then after that we were 'thrown' into the water to practice our water confidence. We had to turn and somersault in the water. Oh ya! And we had to learn switching side from one side of the kayak to another in the water.

Then we can start kayaking! But I didn't really master the technique of kayaking, I just couldn't keep my kayak straight when I move forward! See where I'm going?

Then we formed a line with our kayaks. It was fun!

I got pretty serious sunburn on my face now. I look like the Santa Clause's Rudolph reindeer now. Why? Because I'm having a really red nose (from sunburn) and red cheeks! =( Tomorrow it's gonna turn dark. Sigh...

Then after that I rushed back to OUG for my tuition. And I collected some stuff placed at my aunt's house which was brought by my brother from hometown. I didn't unpack them until I'm back. I just saw a harddisk box in the plastic bag. I remember mum told me they are going to give me mum's unused internal harddisk. So I was expecting they put the old harddisk into the box.

Then when I came back and opened it, inside the box is a brand new 500GB external harddisk!

OMG! I was so confused I called up mum and asked her why was the external harddisk here. She told me it was the birthday present from herself and my bro and his girlfriend. Awww.. I'm soooo touched! I felt my tears welling up.

Oh by the way, I think my legs are going to fall apart. But kayaking doesn't use much leg muscles right? Hmm. I dunno what's wrong with it. Maybe I walked too much? lol. Oh! Or was it the jog I had the day before yesterday? That was my longest jog I had in my life. And guess how many km? 1.5km only. keke.. The second longest jog was with Ching Wan last time during A Levels. We jogged around the football field for around 3-4 times and I was already knocked out. I'm so proud I made to 1.5km this time. Haha. I know I'm very lousy.

My goodness the marathon is like one month away and I am still not sure whether I can make it for 10km. Please, give me the perseverence and determination to proof to myself that I can run 10km. =)

I also like the rapping part of this song called 不潮不用花钱. (I thought it is supposed to be 不愁不用花钱? Hmmm) Plus. The lyrics is very non-sense. No meaning at all one especially the rapping part. But the rapping part tune is nice. =) It's at the very last part.

Argh. So many things to do recently.

1. Have to prepare for the exhibition of Raleigh Asia Regional Conference. Due date is very soon which is next Tuesday! And now I still have no idea how to do le.
2. My chemistry class preparation.
3. Teaching swimming on Friday. Gonna practice my backstroke already. Keke..
4. Moving house! Not yet pack my stuff. Oh and I must remember to call up the owner to settle the deposit.
5. And omg omg! Should I go to the Gunung Ruil trip. end of the month? The stay in Orang Asli's house is really new to me. =( But hor. I know nobody there. =(
6. And etc etc etc. Will only tell here what is etc etc etc when I succeed. Keke.

Sometimes I hope I can just lie on the bed staring at the ceiling and basically just doing nothing. But normally when I have the time to do that, I will end up watching dramas or movies.

Ok. Off to finish up my etc etc etc stuff first. Ciao~~


p/s: Yeay. Obama won the election! Am so happy! Actually I should say I'm envious of America. Coz second class citizen is never going to become prime minister in Malaysia ever. I'm so proud of white Americans who voted Obama because they are willing to accept second class citizen as their leader. I respect them!

The vintage style birthday dinner

This picture says it all.

We had a dinner at Pizza Uno Taipan to celebrate Shi Yun's birthday. That was my suggestion. Keke. Coz Pyramid is really boring to us already. lol.

I didn't know it had shifted to another row of shophouses in Taipan. Just one row behind the old one. Same row as KFC in Taipan facing the mainroad. And it is now bigger and more spacious compared with the old Uno.

We took quite a lot of pictures this time. Hehe. Because the ambiance in this restaurant is really comfortable.

5 of us. CP are you missing us? Just imagine the glass on the table is you la. hehe. =P

Then we went to cut the cake at Station One in USJ.

The cake. The present. And the girls.

The performers were really lousy in singing and sort of dampen our mood a bit. We tried to talk to each other but the performers were yelling at their mics (instead of singing) and most of the time went out of tune. It was really hard to talk with such noise. In the end we yelled (I mean raised our voices) at each other so that we can hear each other.

But the waiter/waitress there were really considerate and clever. They switched off all the lights in the cafe when the cake with lighted candles was brought in front of SY. And at that same time the performers were singing birthday song and everyone was looking. lol. It was really at a good timing. But it can be bad too. Coz I wouldn't want people to turn and look at the numbers of candles on my cake. Hehe. Sorry yea SY. Hehe.

Camwhore for a while there.

My parents just brought grandma for a body check up in JB and she was found that she has a weaker heart now and have to rely on medicine to strengten her heart. After knowing this I have a sudden urge to go home. To be with my grandma just like those old times when we sat on the couch and listen to her talking. Miss those old times when me, my bro and grandma happily sprung off from car to buy sundae cone from Mc Donald in JB whenever we went for shopping in JB. She's old at age but young at mind. She's a very open-minded grandma. Although sometimes immatured and always do funny things, she worth my respect because of all the sacrifices she had done to the family. And she is the most adventurous grandma I've seen climbing up to the 4th floor roof top to adjust the antena at her 75 years old. I miss her. Miss her cute chuckles. =)
