Come a nerdish halloween

Went out with the girls on Deepavali

And took some photos. Hehe.

---------------------

It can be considered a tragedy that up till now I haven't been to any Halloween party in my life! If I have the chance to attend one, I want my first trial to be a NERD. Keke..

Something like this:

And then I will bring along a small kid school bag. Muahaha.

Planes only symbolise separation to me...

Finally collected the photos from Wey Yiing from our previous meet up. Here they are!

----------------------

Me, Lian Shiang and Lay Khoon had a farewell breakfast with Dr Ooi in Klang last Sunday

**Pictures below taken from Shiang's camera**

This is the famous old Bak Kut Teh Shop which is called as "The under the bridge Bak Kut Teh"

See the 'bridge' behind me? It's actually an overbridge

The herbal taste is very strong but the soup is not very thick. The pork is soft to chew on! =D

Pork intestines and stomach

Si tao poh preparing Bak Kut Teh

Her husband was taking a break. Hehe

And then we took a lot of pictures in Monash =P

Some are quite funny. I just put the nice one here la.

Salute!

(My singlet too short until my fat belly come out already. hehe.)

In the School of Engineering staff room

This is the farewell gift Shiang suggested to give Dr Ooi. From me, Shiang, Lay Khoon and Audrey.

Oh my baby blog I wont abandon you again

I didn't realized how detached I was from my blog and the internet until I read an email from 2 days ago just now (Last time I checked my Gmail at least everyday).

I'm really busy this week mainly on these:

1. Preparing for tuition stuff coz it's the last day of tuition with the Form 4 kids today and I hope I can give them my best. (15% of my free time)
2. Meeting up Steven (20% of my free time)
3. Sleep like there's no tomorrow because of headache (20% of my free time)
4. Watch Korean drama (45% of my free time)

Hehe. I hope this won't happen so frequently in the future coz jumbling and summarizing everything together in ONE post is really messy.

-----------------------

Updates updates! From last week till now! hehe. I know it's long. And this post will be really long too. =P But no worries. Coz I will cut the words and let the pictures do the talking.

CP's farewell with a fruitcake in Audrey's room

I'm dark. I know. But the photo is dark also. So actually I'm not that dark. keke.

A breakfast in Old Taste

Me and Audrey just realized that both of us fancy having early breakfast outside very much. We woke ourselves earlier than normal last Saturday just for a breakfast before we go to work.

French toast, roti bakar (toast) and hazelnut coffee for me
Tuna sandwich, roti bakar and white coffee for Olie

Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival at Time square

And found that I actually have no interest in how to play with lights and contrast and the shutter speed or what not. But I love to see the photos in the exhibition. And ...my goodness ! Nowadays cameras are so cheap! RM800 for a 10 megapixel thin and sleek camera with pretty big zoom in magnitude (is it called magnitude? lol) and anti-shock function plus 2GB memory card! Oh my god! How I wish I can buy one. Sob sob.

Pardon the number of pictures in the festival. So many people are carrying their SLR cameras around I dun have the gut to take picture with my handphone camera. hehe.

Meet up Steven

We had dinner at Gasoline in Pyramid

It's really dark inside. I recommend you bring a torch if you want to read the menus there. (Oops! I forgot I have a torch in my handbag stand by)

The lamb chop I ordered is so-so la. Got a very strong frozen food taste. But the rest says their food are quite nice.

Tried Skin Food masks

So cute! Looks like ice-cream

It looks like this inside

With a ice-cream spoon too!

Mix it and ta-da! It's ready to be applied to the face. This one is rose petals and herbs facial mask

Looks like monster. lol.

As the name says it: Cocoa and honey mask

The cocoa powder smells just like those cocoa powder for baking.

After mixing with honey. It looks just like the chocolate ice-cream topping of Mc Donald's sundae. And it smells like chocolate brownies!

At that moment this chocolate mixture looks edible to me.

But I finally managed to persuade myself that it is NOT food and sadly dabbed it on my face. I felt like licking those chocolate around my mouth too. But the thought of this chocolate mixture might have some inedible stabilizing agents in it stopped me from doing so.

Do I look like African? lol

p.s. Talk about Africans I hate it when the Africans staying next door say something like "Hey! Pretty girl. How are you?" to me. As if I know them like that. Makes me feel so insecured staying here.

Never mind. I'm shifting anyways. Keke. Cant wait.

Double rainbows

Such a rare beauty having two rainbows lying parallel by each other. They brightened up my mood that day.

Cancer promoter in plastics

OK. This is a big news to me.

Not the tendency of plastic causing cancer. I knew this years ago. But all these while I don't know what type of plastic can cause cancer. Tupperware claims that their plastics won't. But I didn't buy their plastics coz it's pretty costly to me.

I'm using a plastic water bottle coded "7" at the bottom almost everyday. Basically I just drink water from this bottle everyday, even at home when glasses are available. I dun like to drink from glasses coz you have to keep refilling it whenever you want to drink water. Hehe. I'm such a lazy bum. All these while I thought the Code 7 plastic is safe to be used. I read it somewhere that it is. And I read that this kind of plastic can contain hot water and will not pose any health risks to consumers.

But, I found something contradicting just now. Last night, I went to Popular bookstore and for the very first time I feel like reading the magazine American Scientist there. And there's one article about polycarbonate made from a compound called bisphenol-A which can affect reproductory system. For example, egg defects, mammary gland cancer and prostate cancer. 40% of rodent babies staying in plastic cages washed frequently with acidic cleaning agents were found to have egg defects. I see no reason why human babies who consume bisphenol-A leached from the milk bottles made of polycarbonate due to high temperature or acidic conditions will not be affected. (Ok. Now I'm worried that my milk bottle 24 years ago is made of polycarbonate)

However no significant findings on human yet plus government keep saying the low dose of BPA in polycarbonate plasticwares will not pose any adverse effects on human (maybe because they don't want to admit this due to worry of the lost of certain benefits), I still feel that my lovely Code 7 bottle is a threat to me coz Code 7 plastics are made of chapalang compounds, one of which include polycarbonate. Somemore I always put hot water in to disinfect it. I think I've consumed enough bisphenol-A to make me a Superwoman. lol.

Sigh. But we have no choice but to use these plasticwares. Or should I start looking for Tupperware products? But in fact some Tupperware products also contains bisphenol-A according to this site. Sigh. Maybe I should chop down a bamboo and make myself an organic water bottle. lol.

Admiring Jay's creations

I found several Jay's new song in Youtube just now. I love love love Jay's new song - 稻香 - MV!

I hope this song can reduce suicide cases coz it says "Even if you've lost everything, appreciate everything left with you" "Hang on, don't give up on yourself yet!" "Give yourself a smile, fame is not everything". Of all the lines, one line makes me wanted to cry. It says "go home, go back to the perfect simplicity" Oh! How I wish I can go home now. =( Homesick already.

Other than this famous song, I got attracted to one of the songs called 乔克叔叔. Normal people will not like this song. Hehe. But I'm one weirdo who likes weird songs with outstanding tunes (I think it is outstanding la. coz normal commercial songs will not have such tunes). =P If you have time to listen to it, click on the Youtube link below. Then you will know how weird this song is. lol.

Actually I only found these two songs special. The rest are quite normal.

Sentimental

I just finish reading Su Ann's peer review. Then this line in the review struck me like lightning --"This is a girl (refers to Su Ann) who goes to orphanages on her own to teach English and to geriatric wards just to spend time with the elderly". It struck me because I have been thinking and dreaming of going to volunteer since 2 years ago. And I even filled in a form for an orphanage volunteering programme. But I didn't send in the form. Till now I am yet to volunteer in any homes except for the fundraising I did with my fellow Charlieans to bring the YMCA deaf society kids out for a day trip. But, that fundraising itself is not self-initiated coz it was a compulsory project after a weekend camp. For all these 2 years I have been imagining myself reading story books to the kids in the homes or teaching Down syndrome kids doing art crafts. But all the while I had only been imagining it. After reading the peer review, I think I should start evaluating my life again.

I want my life to be of higher quality in terms of community contribution and mental development. I guess when I have more time on Saturday starting next month, I can start working out towards these two targets. =)

------------------------------------------

So many people leaving the country. So many of them leaving to Australia. I'm starting to miss CP and Dr Lim already. Called up Dr Lim last night and chatted with her. She is still bubbly and friendly. Happy to at least hear her voice before she flies to Australia.

So many people I know are staying in/migrating to/planning to stay forever in Australia. Maybe one day I will fly there for a vacation and visit all of them =P.

And did I mention nowadays I have this bitter feelings when I see planes in the sky? Last time planes reminds me of happy reunions. But now, they only reminds me of the pain of permanent departure. Summore on the way to Glenmarie one will never fail to see a plane with such close distance you will feel as if it is just another car passing by above you, not on the solid ground but in the air.

I had a great birthday. Thanks everyone =)

Oops! Sorry I've been slacking from blogging for so long. =P

Because last few days I had been occupied by a Taiwanese Drama called 篮球火 casted by 言承旭, 小猪 and 吴尊.

I've downloaded until episode 11 but only watched until 7th. Hehe. Today is an off day from this addiction.

The way they slam dunk is really cool! Although it's impossible to do that, but the style is damn cool. They are really creative, to put animation and real drama together. =)

-----------------------

Ok. Back to what I wanted to tell here. I had a special birthday this year because I got to celebrate birthday twice! Once with my girls and another time with my colleagues. I feel so loved!

I celebrated with the girls the day before. It was so sweet of them knowing me always wanted to try Tony Roma's food they had the dinner there. =)

Had a 8 oz steak with BBQ chicken. Side dishes were mashed potato and fresco tomato salad. Steak was tasteless but texture was good. BBQ chicken tasted perfect but texture was too hard.

And being friends for so many years they had started to have this I-bring-you-to-the-mall-and-you-choose-your-own-birthday-present method. Actually I love this idea lo. Coz this ensures the present is really what I like ma. Keke. I love the perfume I chose.

The new release from Dior: Miss Dior Cherie. Audrey told me it was nice. So I tried it and it smelled great on my wrist. =D

Went to have Sundae after the shopping

Took these pictures before we left Pyramid

Love this kind of cap. Maybe one day I will buy myself one. Keke. But I seldom wear also. What's the point of buying then? lol.

And I love my birthday cake!! Oh my god! It's my favourite cake. Remember the chocolate mousse cake I posted up here recently. They had me that cake! Love it!

But this cake a bit too sweet and too moussy already. We couldn't finish it that night =P
[Oh by the way you can just ignore the number of the candle. I'm actually not that old. Am I? lol.. ]

GP kambate in your new road =)

SY jia you and kambate in your coming exam! =)

CP I'll miss you. Sob sob. Wish you all the best and must keep in touch yea!

Olie.. Olie dun read my blog also one. lol.. Nvm. Olie, come back earlier la. I so cham no one to kacau at home. Muakaka..

Eh? Woan Yng, manu lu? In another camera ah? Nevermind. WY, come find us more when we moved to new place yea. We got sofa in the living room there finally. Muahaha..

No worries WY. This photo has everyone. =)

Just realised you all posed so nice. V shape one. Kaka..

On that day itself I had Domino pizza lunch with my colleagues. It was really nice of them. Everyone enjoyed the pizzas (except a student who was vegetarian on that day and we didnt order vegetarian pizza coz we din know). Thanks CY for organizing. =)

-----------------------------

Other than the perfume, I had Skin Food facial masks from Zhuang.

The packeaging looks like ice cream right? One is rose & herbal oil and another one is cocoa & honey. I cant wait to try them! =D

And then from colleagues =D How nice!

Love this card. It's simple but special

Necklace! Hehe. But actually I seldom change necklace one. I always wear the purple crystal my grandma gave me (but necklace from my mum) coz I dunno in what occasion I can change necklace. Will see how. =P

-------------------------

Lastly, see this cute little hippo?

It's a handphone hanger. I bought it at the 7-11 shop in Genting. Few days after buying it only I found that it can talk! It will say "hehehe.. I love you" when I press it. lol. Actually it amused me when I accidentally pressed it. I know there's such thing la. But I never own any one of those talking soft toys, therefore the amusement. Keke..
