Just read Zhuang's blog. There's an entry which is very meaningful. And I think the girl is so 'bahagia' that she has someone who support her whenever she needs a shoulder. I feel sad for the guy. He treated the girl so well but the girl never accept him. Sigh. Many people don't even appreciate someone beside them who's willing to sacrifice for them.

Sigh. Human is like that. When you can't have it, you want it. But when you have it already, you will forget about how desperate you were to get it.

Since Zhuang told me she wants to advertise her blog. She said she wanna put the blog website on her MSN. Although I'm not as significant as Kenny Sia, but I will try introduce to you - Zhuang and her blog: Hanging Bikini Tops. Her blog name damn sexy lo. lol. But the reason she chose this name is not. Haha. Nolah. It's because the reason is out of my expectation.

Traffic Jam Jam JAM!!!!

Adam kept asking me how come I so free during my working time. Being a full time RA is flexible (cited from Wai Ting). Which is good. But, sitting too long in the office is tiring. I rather having more work than sitting here. But, what to do, I have to wait for the cells to grow, then only can do the next step: extract the plasmid from cells--> digest the plasmid--> run the gel yada yada.

Today I checked the plates. And I got the cells. Yeay! So, this is what I'm gonna do today, extract plasmid and so on and so on. Today is a long day. I'm so glad it is. Wish me luck with the work today (Fingers crossed). I better get the band.

By the way, today is the first day I drive to work alone. All this while I had been going to work either by tumpang-ing my cousin or my cousin accompany me to drive to work (remember we work in the same place and same position?) From USJ to Kelana took me 50 minutes!!! But the traffic in USJ is not as bad as the Sunway Toll part except the roundabout part that's all. Maybe I came out early (like 7.10am?? Early leh? hehe).

The delay was mostly because of the traffic police. At the junction from Giant road in USJ to the Summit road, the police blocked the whole queue of car for 10 freaking minutes!! OK. Maybe I'm exaggerating, 5 minutes then. Sigh... So, although it's not like Sunway Toll (cars cutting lanes here and there) but this one eats up my time even more. My goodness.

So I reached here at 8am. -_-

I wonder if I leave my apartment at 8am will it be as jam? Or I'll just take like only 20 minutes to reach Kelana? Hmm... No idea unless I take one day to experiment.

By the way, you might realised my entries got no more pictures recently. This is because I'm still using my mum's nokia 3100.. so no camera function. Better earn more money to buy my new phone. I guess I should take up part time job on weekends. Suggestions?

Last Sunday I drove the Nissan Sunny from KT to KL with my mum. It was a 5 hours drive because I'm still fresh in driving. Then, me and my mum went to my bro's place at Cyberia. He followed us to my place and helped me up with carrying the stuff to my future 'home'. Then, we switched car. From a 15 years old Nissan to a less than a year old Saga.

I feel so bad because he had been using it since it was bought and obviously Nissan is way older than Saga. This old car has a lot problems. Even though my dad tried to fix it the problems still remained. Sigh. I'm so in debt with my bro.

He even left a block of CDs in the Saga for me. That's so sweet of him. And an Ambi Pure, that's by accident. Hehe. He forgot to take it back. I miss him so much now. =) Wish he can manage to sleep enough before (or after) the submission of the homework. =)

Today was reading a book called "Speaking with a Purpose" on the bus on my way back home from KL. I borrowed this book in MUST library. It was on the new arrivals shelf on display few days ago. It caught my eyes.

Arthur Koch, the author taught people how to public speaking with confidence. There's one thing he asked readers to try. List out 5 things to do in order to stretch your comfort zone. He meant comfort zone for public speaking. But he stressed that stretching comfort zone can be applied to other situations in life.

I stared at this sentence for like 5 minutes, thinking. If I'm to answer this question. What are the 5 things I would do to stretch my comfort zone? Koch gave some examples in the book:

If you are more comfortable waiting for someone else to speak first, push yourslef to speak first as often as possible; Ask more questions in store; Try dressing differently; Seek leadership roles; Go horseback riding; Drive somewhere you have never been

Then this thought came to me. 1 I've never been driving in the traffic in KL before. I guess driving everyday to work and back is one of the accomplishment to stretch my comfort zone. 2 Then working from 9-5 every 5 days in a week might be one accomplishment since I had never worked so long before. Very tiring le... Hehe. 3 Then earning my own money and don't take money from parents anymore (I always dream to be financially independent. I owe my parents too much. Duwan to burden them anymore). 4 Then learning molecular biology work in lab is another one (coz I never did that before and hav no idea how to do it. I'm gonna learn soon).
5 I guess the last one would be flying to UK when I get the chance to take annual leave. Muahaha.

Today very happy! Because I off half day from work 'cause my cousin haven't got a bank account. So, she had to get one since she's got this job. So, I follow her back lo (got no transport currently), shun bian buy bus ticket to hometown (refer to starting a working life...real soon if u wanna know y i wanna go back hometown...lol..lame)

Grilled Cheese!!!

Yummy. My stomach is turning now. It might look so so to you. But, it's TASTY!!!

Very easy to make only. Just put a piece of cheese in between bread. Then, apply butter to both sides of the bread. Then grill the bread until it turns brown both sides. Then, take out and cut into half (2 triangles). Eat them before they turn cold. It's supremely cheesy!! Yummm.

This recipe is introduced to me by my cousin Zhuang. She say Hawaii everywhere got this so called GRILLED CHEESE. Nice right?

It's the second day of my work.


The first day was quite tiring and boring. Maybe because I woke up at 6.30am which I normally don't. I wake up normally at 7.30am. Me and my cousin went out by 7.10am and we reached there at 7.45am!!! Since I already woke up already, I can't sleep on the car. So, we waited on the car until 9am. Waiting was so tiring. So, it was a very unproductive day. When my boss passed me her ex-master student's thesis, I was too tired to read. I kept yawning in the lab until 6pm. I tried to do some yoga in the lab to refresh myself. But, it didn't work. In the end only read 2 pages of lit review.


Then, after that I tried to make myself relax to the max when I sleep last night and I told myself I'm gonna read the thesis up, find related articles online and find out what I'm going to do with the project. So, I had a very productive day today. Reading so much didn't make me feel sleepy. I feel very fresh and still very energetic and not sleepy at all. I'm still feeling fresh now. Today I felt less sleepy maybe because we woke up at 7am today. And went out at 7.40am. But, the traffic was terrible at that time we took 1 hour to reach there. Scary man...

One more thing hor. The lab is freaking cold and dry. I can feel the water from my body kept evaporating from my head. Muahaha. Maybe I should wear a winter cap to lab next time. kakaka..


Wish for tomorrow:
(1) I can be even more productive.
(2) Tomorrow go work at 7.30am hope can beat the traffic a bit. Early by 10 mins should be better gua. (we don't dare to try 8 something because scare will reach there late)

The first thing in my buying list after I got the job offer was Sunglasses.

Why so? I can't stand the sun flaring into my eyes when I was either sitting at the passenger seat or driving seat in the car. I will fall asleep after a few eye-blinking. Or end up headache if I resist from falling asleep. So, undoubtedly, sunglasses is very important if I am to drive in KL. Hehe.

So, today I went to MidValley with my aunt and cousin. And I bought this sunglasses from TopShop which was under 70% discount. RM96 --> Rm28 le. A sunglasses with UV protection, and summore I like the style, with only RM28? Whoa. I was really stunned. Hahaha... They even gave me a pouch for the sunglasses.


Like Mafia le? Hehe...

Erhem. Just shock sendiri only la.

I just want a shade for my eyes to prevent myself from falling asleep when I'm driving.

Starting a working life...real soon

To those who met me in Monash last month, I'm still in KL. Surprised?

I came to KL on 20 August for a conference. Then postponed my plan to go home on 3 Sept because I can't resist the chocolate and cheese temptation (my cousin and I made those chocolate cake, chocolate truffles, chocolate mousse and pizzas). After that, my aunt said she wants me to pass the mooncakes she make for my mum. So, I waited.

While waiting I was applying for jobs. And all of the sudden 3 interviews came to me. I went to 2 last Friday and this Tuesday. Later in Tuesday, I canceled the 3rd interview because I got the offer from the 2nd interview. And I'm going to start working next Monday!!! Which is very rush for me. My luggage are actually in traveling mode. Luckily the dress code to work is casual with jeans and sport shoes allowed, but no sleeveless. Too bad, I only have 3 T-shirts and 1 polo shirt, the rest are either too mafan to wear in the lab or they are sleeveless.

This clothes deprivation state undoubtedly confirm my need to go back Johor. And car too. I need a car to work. And since I decided to move in to USJ, I need to bring tilam and all the necessities from my hometown. Since my aunt is going to make mooncake this weekend, I can't go back yet. So, I'm going back next weekend. Saturday morning take bus back and then Sunday come back with my dad's Nissan. Whoa. It's gonna be very very super extra tiring. Hope my plan goes well. I doubt.

My taste bud is ruling over me

Ok guys (especially to Mun K and EeVon), I've already decided to use Ava. Close case for suggestions. hehe... Of course I still prefer Heay than Ava though. But I can't call myself Heay Kong Yink Heay. That's why I have this Ava thing.

Well, the stay at my aunt's is so fun and what's more satisfies my taste bud to the bestest. At first me and my cousin (Zhuang) made chocolate truffles and mousse, both done in one afternoon. We made 2 types of truffles: one coated with chopped hazelnuts and one with cocoa powder. The former tasted better with the hazelnutty taste and not to forget the hazelnut texture. We made about 7 glasses of chocolate mousse. But, the mousse was too sweet and the texture was a bit coarse. But both mousse and truffles looks presentable though.



The next day or next next day I dun remember, we made chocolate moist cake. The one I posted in previous post. I had it really soft and spongy this time. But, too bad, after we refrigerated it and took it out the next day, it went a bit harder, like chewing on ...hmm...what's more appropriate for the description?... a Mozarella cheese which had been kept in fridge that hasn't been defrosted. Maybe I should try to modify the recipe to make it more resistant to refrigeration because everyone would love a cold and spongy or muddy cake.

Yesterday, we made 20 mini snow-skin mooncakes and 2 pizzas. The mooncake filling was redbean. It was very nice to chew on after refrigerated for a day. Pizza was extremely yummy with the combination of Mozarella Cheese, Cheddar Cheese and Monterey Jack Cheese, tomato paste, thyme leaves and Oregano spices. Some more the dough was soft, chewy with a little bit of sweetness inside when you chew on it. These pizzas, although irregular by their shapes, the texture, smell and taste very much suited my expectation for a pizza (I prefer chewy pizza over crusty ones..hehehe). Too bad I din take the picture of the pizza. Coz our mouths were much faster than our hands that hold camera. Hehe... I have pictures for the cute little mooncakes though.

Tomorrow we are going to make more mooncakes with lotus and date fillings. Then, we are planning to make chocolate brownies. Zhuang had never tried chocolate fondue before. So, we are planning to make dark chocolate sauce for a small fondue tea break with various fruits to be dipped into the chocolate sauce. I cant wait to try these all. My stomach is grumbling now.
