Off for Penang

Tomorrow I'll be going to stay overnight at Cheng Yee's house so that Friday early morning we can depart to Kampar for breakfast, then Ipoh for lunch then finally Penang. =)

Actually nothing much to blog also. Hehe. But feel like putting up a new post coz I'll be away for few days until Monday. Hope this blog won't be too empty. =P

Anyhoos, first of all, happy birthday to my ex-roomie, Choo Peng, who had shared my joy my tears and lotz of our stressful lives back in uni time. Really miss you lo. You faster fly back Malaysia la =P Then we can go shopping... or just gossiping in Aud's room will be fun too. =P

For the Penang trip, my target is to eat the cendol at the small lorong somewhere at the town I guess. Then I want to eat char kuey teow and asam laksa. I don't like prawns. So prawn mee is not one of my target. According to my housemate's mum, "lo bak" is very famous in Penang. She told me go Penang must try their "lo bak".

After many direction and description of the places she went and how delicious was the lo bak, I asked her, "What's lo bak?" =.="

I haven't seen anything called lo bak before. It should look something like this:

(Not advertising for the coffee shop, this is the only nicely taken photo of lo bak I could find online)

Actually going to historical places should also be great but since I dun have a camera I can't take any photos of the places, so no point going there actually.

Watched this MV just now and found that Hebe is so adorable and pretty and sweet and cute and pretty. And did I just said adorable? lol. I sound like a lesbian.

Awww.. If only I can look like her. Ish.. What a big dream. lol.. Nevermind. I can start with that hairstyle first. lol.

Lunch from home =)

I haven't been cooking since June. The fridge had been empty since then.

It's mainly because I have Korean classes on Tuesday and Friday evenings. On these evenings I just settle my dinner at the Asia Cafe near the language center before the classes commence. Since I didn't cook on Tuesday night, I won't have home-cooked lunch for Wednesday.

Another very important factor is the recce which always falls on Sunday. By the time I come home I'm a dead meat already. So definitely I won't cook lunch for Monday then.

I teach Mei Chemistry during Saturday. So normally I have lunch and dinner with them.

So you must be asking how about Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening? You must be thinking "you still can cook what". That's because sometimes I'll use these time to do some maintenance stuff like getting a haircut or looking for Adidas kampung at pasar malam or revising Korean. Since I'm so busy, recently I prefer to rest in my room whenever I have time. =P

In other words, I'm lazy. Hehe..

Rest is a bliss okay... =P

Today, because of inefficient funding (very poor la..) coz I have to save some money for my Penang trip this weekend, I decided that starting this week I should cook to reduce the cost on my meals. It actually is cheaper than my expenses from buying meals. But to what extend?

So let's calculate together yea =)

This is the list I bought today:
Whole chicken RM7.91
5 carrots RM1.99
Ladies finger (300g) RM1.59
Dry tofu 9 pcs RM1.75
Sawi (2 ikat) RM2.80
Total: RM16.04

These ingredients can last me for about 6-8 meals. Meaning one meal = RM 2.00-2.60. I didn't include the cost of rice, oil, gas and water. After adding these it should be about RM2.50-3.00 gua.

One meal I bought from those economy rice stalls (one meat and one vege) = RM4.00

So, in conclusion, I save RM1 per meal if I cook. (=.=)"

If wanna compensate the energy and time I use to walk around to buy the grocery and to prepare and cook the meals (time = 9.5 hours/week, energy = I dunno la.. but my feet damn painful after standing for too long in the kitchen), isn't it kinda not worth it? hehe.. Summore the economy rice stall got different variety of dishes which I dunno how to cook. So I can get more nutritious meals from economy rice as compared with home-cooked meals (for example I'll be eating only sawi, chicken, carrot and ladies finger for this whole week, how sad..)

But once in a while eating home-cooked food is quite bahagia also la (if mum cooks for me even more bahagia. Hehe.. ) Summore home-cooked food the amount of the dishes is a lot more as compared with the economy rice I bought outside coz if I take a lot sure it will sure be more than RM4 one. Summore having to drive out to buy economy rice during lunch time and after work wastes petrol also. And sometimes SS15 is very jam and very hard to find parking at around 6pm. So there's good and bad la.

Tomorrow I'm bringing lunch! Yeay yeay!

Leo Ku had a nice new song duet with Shirley Kwan. At first I dun like the du~du~du part. But dunno why now I find it very cute! Hehe..

關淑怡 & 古巨基 男左女右

Didn't know the lyrics is talking about conflicts between girl and guy in a relationship until I saw this MV. The song sounds so cheerful it makes the lyrics so unmatched! lol.

Fruitless recce

I didn't enclose the past two recce events in my blog coz it's just solely recce. You'll be bored with many names of the Taman Rekreasi or some unnamed site we went only.

But today recce was different. Coz we couldn't even find a possible campsite. So the recce today was solely road trips, even worse than the first recce. lol...

We started first with breakfast in Taman Reckreasi Chongkak. We picnic by the roadside. Caught a lot of attention from the group of photographers who came to take photos in the park.

Our breakfast =)

After that we turned into every small roads we can see beside the main road hoping that it might lead to a jungle with flat ground suitable for campsite. But most of them ended up with Orang Asli village or some farms.

In the end we did nonsense things:

- A small road led us to an Orang Asli village. When driving out we saw a coconut tree with a coconut dangling low. Vincent and Dennis 'harvest' the coconut near the Orang Asli village. The way they harvest the coconut is very weird lo.

First Vincent tried to climbed the tree.

Then he tried to throw the parang upwards to try to chop the coconut off from the branch.

Afterwards both Vincent and Dennis chop off the branch which the coconut is connected to get the coconut. =.='

After that we quickly hopped into Vincent's car and mischieviously hid the coconut in the car hoping that nobody notice we stole the coconut.

- Another small road led us to a cow barn. When Vincent was making a U-turn in the farm, we took some pictures of the cows.

This cow damn big size one..

-Another road led us to another Orang Asli village called Kampung Orang Asli Paya Lebar. Me and Lu Yi borrowed their toilet there coz we can't find any other toilet along the road earlier on. lol.. Then Vincent and Dennis had a conversation with the orang asli guy there. =)

- Then we had lunch at Hutan Lipur Jeram Toi.

This is where I got my headache due to the glaring sun. I was dehydrated when sitting under the sun.

Macaroni with garlic cream sauce and some luncheon meat. Thanks Dennis for the great breakfast and lunch. =)

This is the coconut we stole. Vincent was chopping open the fruit with his parang.

After opened, we poured out the coconut juice into a messtin. It taste heavenly. Vincent was not used to it coz it has no pandan taste. lol.. Coz it's normal coconut ma.

The coconut flesh which I didn't try coz I was very full already after eating the macaroni =P

After eating, we took a 15 minutes nap lying on the ground at our picnic site.

Then we had a lot of photo session using LuYi's camera (which I'm yet to get the photos from) with Drake, our Raleigh bear.

-Then we went to play swing and see-saw in Taman Rekreasi Lenggeng.

Very demotivated already at that point. So bored with the zero results and plus my headache, I really wanted to go home and sleep.

What an unfruitful day. But now thinking back it feels like I was on a relaxing road trip. =)

Group photo of recce 23-08-09. From the left: Dennis (my team leader) Lu Yi, me and Vincent (our President)

Aww... I miss the fruitful recce at Hulu Perdik where we found a very nice waterfall which has quite little visitors (only one family with kids went there for fishing and playing water)

We were very excited with the waterfall =)

Posing with our parangs. =P

Hope we can find more camping site next recce la. =)

So close yet so far..

Saw this cloud which looks like a baby angel soaring in the sky when I was having my lunch in the pantry in my company.

Closer view:

Can you see the legs on the right and the wings projecting towards us? And the head of the angelic face on the left. Awww.. Isn't it cute? =)

I get to know Lenka from One FM recently. They keep playing her song "The Show". I think it's very unique and I love her style.

This girl has her own style in singing. =)

Mumblings here and there

Just came back from Eason's concert. And lost my beloved orange water bottle. Sigh. I sort of abandoned it and I regretted it very much now, physically but not mentally. Duwan to explain more coz this will make me feel worse.

Eason's live voice was just like his voice in CD except sometimes when he danced he panted a lot when he sang. Other than that it was perfect. He was funny too. I think in the future he can become a stand-up comedian.

-

Suddenly this song came to my mind just now. So in Love.

It was my favourite song when I watched Love in Harvard. The song was well composed but the singer voice and English pronunciation are a bit sorry. But I still like this song. Coz it sounds very cheerful. Just like my another favourite Korean song "One Sweet Day" which is also my current ringtone (I had been using this ringtone since 4 years ago, on and off with Canon). Whenever I'm happy I'll think of these songs.

Admiring Eason

I cant wait to go Eason Chan's concert!

Oh ya! I haven't said it here that I'm going have I? =P

Yesss! I am! I've purchased the cheapest ticket RM98 just to listen him sings.

I know to some people it doesn't sound practical at all. But, I just feel that having to listen to his real voice for once in my life is worth the money. =) Provided if he's not sick la.

Today One FM kept playing his song whole day. I felt like I was in ecstasy grinning all by myself listening to those songs. One of my colleague, Yenny, who is going to the concert with me this coming Sunday had been complaining that she cannot stand the radio station playing Eason's songs almost 99% this whole day. She's not his fan. Not even a little bit.. That's why she could not stand it.. haha.

Last week I borrowed Eason's CD from Audrey and listen in my car whenever I go. When I listen to the CD I found that I like one of his songs called 十面埋伏, too. I almost forgot this song is nice too. =)

And recently One FM had been playing his K歌之王 live in 2008 which modified this song to fusion of many ballroom dancing tunes. Very special sound effects.

I anticipate something like this in the coming concert. But I dun think it will be that great lo.. Coz the concert is going to be at Sunway Surf Beach. So small. How to make such effect. Sigh..

Today I told a 5 star lame joke.

I told Cheng Yee the chiffon cake was in the pantry. And then after a short pause, I asked her a series of questions which stunned her at first. She can't help laughing afterwards.

I asked her:

How can a chiffon cake roundish in shape?
Why is it not square?

Aren't it 四方
cake (Pronounce in Cantonese)?

Roundish, no?

.
.
.
.

Alright, they do look squarish when it's cut into slices. lol...

Afterwards Cheng Yee even went around asking people why is chiffon cake not squarish. lol..

Pictionary addicted

Hoo Hoo Hoo!!

I just came back from my second level Korean class (Beginner 2) first class!

Feel so belonged when met my teacher Ms Kim and my fellow classmates. Now the class is getting smaller, only 7 people per class. Hence the classroom is very tiny. Now only left ChiaoWen, WeiWei, WeiYen, Bryan, Alec and Me. Alya was absent.

First class was tedious. Suddenly many grammar theories came bombarding us. Maybe one week holiday was too long for us. hehe..

-

Went to aunt's house last Sunday coz my parents came for my bro's convocation on Monday.

We played Pictionary that night.

That was the first time I played Pictionary. It's a game where you have to express something in a card you picked by drawing, without verbal communication with your teammate. And your teammate have to guess the words in the card correctly from your drawings.

The most difficult word I got was 'language'. How are you going to draw language?!

I attempted drawing two persons talking to each other. I can't write any words so I can't put English, Malay, Chinese words in the drawing to emphasize different languages.

My mum (she's my teammate) can't get my drawing.

Anywhos, it's a fun game. And I can't wait to play that again. =P

-

I was listening to his song in my car when coming back from Korean class.

He's Mika. The song is Grace Kelly. It's a very special song sang very crazily and with weird high pitches which really suit the tune. Lively song this is. =)

Many people dislike him because of the way he brings himself. But I think regardless he's gay or not, he's voice is superb!

Enjoy!

Pasta Temptation

I'm thinking of not updating coz I'm lazy. Keke..

But I feel like sharing a song in my blog after listening to it in radio for many days.

So oklah. I'll update then. =P

-

Last Friday was my Korean exam. Was damn nervous coz very long haven't been attending exams. And I didn't study much! Only took one night to summarize all the things I've learned in a notebook. Luckily teacher gave us quite a lot of hints. For example she gave us 15 words and told us she will give us a spelling test on 8 out of the 15.

The results turned out shockingly astounding. I got a 100%! My last 100% was like centuries ago. lol. Maybe coz before the exam I forced myself to memorize the words which I always spell wrongly.

It got even more shocking when of the twelve people in the class I'm the only person who got the full mark. Even the girl who converse in Korean fluently also didn't get. I was actually very shocked.

What's more shocking was that my teacher later told us that no one got a full mark in their exam before. o.O!!!

I was flattered. Keke..

Gonna continue next level next Tuesday.

Hehe.. Here's the cert I got from Level 1 Korean class:

-

I always cannot resist pasta temptation one.

Last Saturday went to Pavilion with Zhuang and Mei. It was dinner time. So we had to decide where to eat. When we passed by Michelangelo, I cannot leave the place when I read the menu at the entrance. Actually the menu smells like mozzarella cheese. That's what tempted me to decide we would dine in there. Maybe it's a tactic the restaurant crews trick the customers to dine in there. hehe..

The atmosphere outside is bar-like but the atmosphere inside is very royal-like with chairs covered with the cloth printed with a Michelangelo logo. And the black colour chandelion made it looks mysterious.

Whenever I go to a restaurant selling pastas I'll sure order Carbonaras or something with cream sauce. Coz I rate the restaurant's pastas by it's cream sauce. If the cream is rich, thumbs up for it. If the mushrooms are fresh mushrooms, double thumbs up.

Michelangelo has double thumbs up spaghetti carbonara.

Mei ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce

I dun remember what Zhuang ordered but it's almost the same like mine.

Me taking the photos of the food

Very focus.. hehe

Mei and Zhuang kept taking my picture. So I attempted few different types of poses

-
Hehe.. Here comes the song I want to share it here.

终身美丽 - 郑秀文

I like the rhythm of the whole song. And her voice is perfect!
