Happy Bronze Medallion =)

Finally! I passed all the towing tests for Bronze Medallion.

1. Throw an aid (a short rope) from poolside (on land) and land victim

2. 10m rope throwing and pull victim to poolside (the rope I throw was not very good. Senget a bit. but still considered within reach of victim. keke. But I really wanna improve on this. Hmm.. See when got chance I will practice myself)

3. Swim 20m tow 20m cross chest tow (both rescuer and victim with clothes on)

4. Swim 50m tow 50m with aid (the short rope). Time limit: 3 mins 15 secs. This time I manage to swim finish within 3 minutes =) Normally training only manage to do around 3 mins 10 secs like that only. Thanks to power gel. It really helped! I purposely took it right before this part since this part is the one that needs timing.

5. Rescue breaths: Swim 20m, dive in to take up bottle containing sand, pick up victim and tow to nearest contact point (the poolside), give rescue breath and then tow along the poolside and then give rescue breaths (for two more times) another 20m and then land victim.

6. Double restrain: Swim 50m tow 50m chin tow with victim struggling on instructor command. (this time the victim struggled more times then training time. Damn 'syok' la. Err. I mean shocked. lol)

I'm very satisfied with my performance today. No panting, no muscle cramps. Although got accidentally drink a bit water while towing a victim but managed to control it from choking me. And I didn't sink the victim at all! Yeay!

Today straight a way learn CPR and perform CPR test on the spot too =D So now I passed for the towing part and CPR part already. Yeay!

Will be having a 4m diving test and first aid test weeks later because today not enough time to do all the tests. I very scared the diving test lo. Coz yesterday went to Bangsar pool to try the depth. My ear drum started to feel painful when diving until 2m and the pain gradually build up when I keep diving in until I reach 4m. Before I reach the bottom (around 2 more kicks to reach the bottom), I feel my ear is like wanna burst already. Scary la. Then when I came back up I feel the ear pain transfer to headache at the sides and slowly spread to the whole head. But luckily it's just for a while. After that the pain all gone. But I really scared to dive la.

Any suggestions and knowledge to share with me on how to cope with this water pressure problem? Scuba divers, any advice? My instructor told me I can try slowly first by diving to 2m, let the ears get used to it, then to 3m let the ears get used to the depth then finally 4m and let them get used to it. Any say?

My instructors took the pictures and video of us doing every tow. So hopefully after I get the pictures from them I can post it up to show you all la. But hopefully those who cannot view my images can see the pictures by then la. Sigh. That's a problem I dunno how to solve. Some people cannot see the pictures in my blog (but they can see images in other blogspot blogs). Sad la. Dunno how to tackle this problem. Anyone, any clue?

Update: I just read up a scuba diving website regarding the water pressure problem on ear drums. It is said that using ear plug during diving is foolish as water pressure will force the plug in and it is not helping in releasing the pressure. And it said that if ignoring the pain and keep diving one might have dulled hearing or hearing loss! And it said that when you feel the pain in ear, the pressure is damaging the ear. And if this persists, the water will get into the ear and causes one to feel imbalance and dizzy and cannot differentiate between going up or down.

The proper way is to open up the eustachian tube. But I dunno how lo. Reading the explanation in words is so abstract and hard to imagine. I have no problem with equalising the pressure in planes coz I can yawn and then it will be gone. But when I'm underwater I cant open my mouth to yawn mah. So I din know what to do to equalise. I dunno how to equalise by swallowing saliva. That's the problem la. Sigh.

And the big problem is I have to be able to dive at least 2m to get the Bronze Medallion cert. =(

Irau confirmed!

Yeay! I'm going to Irau! The fairy tale mountain.

This will be my first mountain. Wish me luck! I hope I can cope with the temperature at night and hope the load that has to be carried up the mountain wont affect my stamina. All in all, I believe it will be a great trip coz great companion provides great atmosphere =)

But hor, I need rucksack desperately for the trip le. And I need a pair of shoes coz I spoiled my shoes in my company sports day more than a week ago. The most appropriate shoe to wear for trekking is Adidas Kampung. But I have no idea where I can get this shoes in Subang.

Rucksack -- as long as can put my sleeping bag, four 1.5L water bottles, mess tin and some of my belongings then can liao. No need too big one. (40-60 liter should be enough for girls right?) Anyone can lend me? I need it next weekend. I can buy myself next time but not so soon. Coz I duwan to simply buy just for the sake of going Irau. Scare later buy a too expensive one or not suitable one.

Adidas Kampung -- "all rubber construction and studs allow you to walk through mud and on slippery surfaces with little problem" quoted from this website. Perfect for slippery trails. Damn cheap one. Only RM5 per pair. But I dunno where I can get this around Subang area le. Anyone got idea?

Oh. I need another wish of luck too! My Bronze Medallion exam is coming this Sunday! OMG. Wish me luck!! Hope I can beat the 100m 100s la. Until now also cannot beat it le. My best record stopped at 135 seconds and then my last record was 145 seconds. Sigh. Getting worse pula. I need more arm power for freestyle. I should start training everyday starting tomorrow.

Hope tomorrow can get at least 120 second for 100m.

Gotta go sleep early for better performance in tomorrow training. Nights!

Arrr Chuu!!

There's a saying that nobody can sneeze with open eyes. How true it is I dunno. But I know I cant see the road when I'm sneezing for that moment when I'm driving.

These few days since last week I had been sneezing while I'm driving. Can you imagine how bad it can be? My eyes automatically closed when I sneezed. Summore hor, every time my nose choose to sneeze when I'm at junctions or when I'm changing lanes. Sigh. Dunno is it something superior up there wanna have fun on me or what.

Or maybe I should go have a vacuum for my car? But I just had it 2 weeks ago only wor. Wasting money le vacuum car. Sigh. But it was also 2 weeks ago I had my car washed. hehe. Yalah. The same time la. Abuthen. After the car wash I let the rain do its job whenever my car is dirty lo. Free car wash ma. And no need waste energy to wash myself also. hehee..

But I think it might be a sign to me that it IS time for me to for car wash and vacuum already.

Aku mau pergi Gunung Irau! (Translate: I wanna go Mount Irau!) Adrian from Raleigh is inviting all his Facebook friends for a trek and camp at Gunung Irau.

According to this blogger Gunung Irau is like the fusion of the forests in the movies Lord of the Rings and Charlie Chocolate Factory. Because. It is MOSSY. It's near Cameron there. So it will be cooling and I think it will be freezing cold at night. And the moss! It is mainly due to the low temperature there I think.

I went to google the pictures of Gunung Irau right after I heard about the camp. The spooky pictures of mossy trees and rocks attracted me a lot! Coz from the pictures it really looks like some temperate countries la. It's so not Malaysia. lol. But one thing about this mountain is that it better dun rain during the trek. Coz it will get really really muddy.

Spooky or not? Like those scary movies. But I like how the branches interlink each other and form a pretty artistic picture.

Mossy brances, roots and trunks

Very mossy roots

Ferns!!

Ferns again! =D

This is an example of how muddy the trek can be. Wow. I cant wait! (Zhuang must be wondering now what kind of freak I am wanting so much to drench in the mud. lol)

Went to sing K with my girls and their boys yesterday (lol. Such a funny way to address them) It was for Get Pei's birthday celebration. =)

Hehe. See any difference in me? I wore a DRESS! First time wearing it to friend gathering. lol..

And WY hair was shocking-ly "yeh" =P Spiky one le. Summore dyed dark red colour. Sexy.

The guys.

Update from 3rd July

Today went to help a student trainee tapao lunch. When I wanna pay the lunch, the uncle who spoke cantonese to the guy before me told me the price in English.

This kind of situation happens to me zillions of time already since young. But recently I seldom get it already. So when the uncle spoke English to me instead of Canto or Mandarin, I feel shocked. But actually English is considered better already. Last time an auntie in a market spoke Malay to me after talking to my mum in Mandarin. I think she thought I'm my mum's maid la. Sigh...

But if I'm a maid also I'm a Philippino maid lo. Coz almost everyone who said I look like foreigner agrees that I look more like a Philippino than an Indonesian.

(1) First it was the stranger I met in hostel last time agreed that I look like Philippino instead of Indon.
(2) Then Kexin and Adam said I look like Maria the Philippino maid and then kept teasing me. That bad meh?
(3) After that even Heng, my boyfriend, said he saw a pretty Philippino nurse in hospital who looks like me. hehe. At least he included the word 'pretty'.
(4) And Poovan calls me Philippino girl.

Hey. Who says Philippinos are not pretty? Angel Locsin is one pretty Philippino in my opinion.

But too bad, my nose is not as tall, my eyebrows are not as long, my lips are not as pink, my eyes not as electrifying and my chin is too short. lol... I know la. I'm way too far from her. =P In fact most of the time I see myself looks more like a dude than a babe. lol.

***********************

Went to USJ 4 for dinner with CP that day also. We wanted to Taipan for dinner but couldn't find parking. So we just drove around and look for food. And then we found this food court with a lot of people ordering their claypot chicken rice. So we just gave it a try. It was good! The chicken is soft, unlike those hard to chew one people sold outside. Not too salty not too dry. The portion was so big that we could hardly finish it. Next time I'll share one person serving.

Obviously some rantings

Wah. After seeing all the photos from GP's facebook on last AGM. I really regretted I missed it. Aiyah.. Should have MC that Saturday so that I can join. lol. I especially interested with the body rafting part la. Sigh. SIGH. SSIGHHHH! Argh!! I miss the chance to try it out. Body rafting..... Sigh...

What's worse is that my life is so out of my control now. The most obvious effect is my room. lol. It is damn messy. I think I need to do some cleaning already. I have so many things on my mind now. Working stuff, tuition stuff, life saving exam next Sunday (panic panic!!), and now that my room is sooo messy it definitely adds some burden. I think it might be due to the stress. Thinking that life saving exam is coming next week is making me feeling sick. OMG. OMG. I need extra practice le. Poovan help me! Cannot already. Have to everyday practice already. But, but, my 'aunty' visit me le. Sweat.... Wasted my training time. Sigh. See how stress I can be? I guess it's due to PMS. lol..

Wah.. beh tahan already. Feel so tired. Have to go sort out my life already. Start from my room. Haha. The earlier I start the earlier I can sleep. Ciao!
