My cooking skills improving.. haha

Chat with LS just now before I going off. I think she's my regular reader from the way she responded to what I was saying. From my blog she thinks I'm living a luxurious life.

Hmm.. Except those occasions like the girls' birthday, Charlieans gathering (which is rare) or some meals outside on weekends with my housemates, I cook myself every weekday le.. Not that luxurious la.

I try to make myself buy veges in pasar malam every Tuesday or buy from Giant on weekends so that I can cook my dinner. If I don't have any vege to cook, I would cook instant noodles (my all time favourite are Korean Kimchi Ramen and Tomyam noodle).

Okla.. As an evidence for those of you who don't believe I got cook at home. I show you some pictures of my products la. But then the earlier ones are really super failures. But this shows that I'm improving. kaka.

Now I start to like cooking. Last time I cook because I have to save money and I was hungry. But now, I enjoy cooking and like to try new stuff.

The failures:

Kailan Noodle. Noodle too soggy, kailan shouldn't be cooked in soup. And yea, it's a soup noodle. Can't see soup? Coz I over-cook it already, soup all evaporated. lol.

Soup noodle with Chinese mushroom and potatoes. Noodles still too soggy, too many potatoes (over-estimated), soup still disappear. lol.

Tomato soup noodle with carrot and potato. Noodle is still soggy, soup is finally visible (which is good also), but the amount for the whole thing is for 2 person (I put 2 ketul of Cintan noodle, clever-nya)

**whisper** You wanna know why I always overcook? haha.. coz when I dump everything into the rice cooker, I went to watch Korean drama.

The successful ones:

Finally after a while I bought rice (it's Thailand rice, very tasty and got nice smell too). The dish is oyster sauce with cabbage, Chinese mushroom and ear fungus (the black black thing). This dish is tasty.

This is the zoomed-in picture of the dish:

Baked beans (from can) with rice. This one nice also. Haha. I'm getting better. But rice too little (underestimate pula)

This was my last night dinner! Tomyam fried rice with cabbage, mushroom and onion. It's really tasty. haha.

Ok. That's all la. Actually there were more but because they look really sorry so I didn't bother to take the picture.

I'm going off to cook my tomyam noodle now. Today one is a bit easy, just instant tomyam noodle with cabbage coz I run out of things to cook already. I only left Chinese mushroom, ear fungus, cabbage, baked beans and sardin. The same things over and over again. I'm sick of these things already. So just cook instant noodle today la.

Any suggestions on what to cook from Chinese mushroom, ear fungus, cabbage, baked beans and sardin?

A very long philosophy on love

"Heay, what is love?" Heng asked.

Me: Love is a feeling. A feeling that will make you worry, feel sad or happy for the person you love

Heng: Love is the desire and feeling to appreciate each other

And then he added "I think love is more than just appreciation".

But when I asked him to explain his statement he dunno how to put in words.

Me: Is it in a good way?

Heng: Love is always good. Don't you think?

Me: Love can be selfish. Like what I'm doing now. I'm holding you off from sleeping. And it's 2am there now. Faster go sleep.

Maybe love is just a feeling, nothing else. But this feeling can lead to several consequences, either good or bad, depending how you handle it. We are human, we are not saints, we make mistakes. Despite the happy times, sometimes we can become too emo and hurt our love ones.

So love is not a problem itself, it is only a factor of the problem. The problem (in which people always find from love) is the way people manage the relationship. Relationship does not only involve couples. When two individuals love each other, even when they have not agreed with each other to commit, if it is not handled well, heartbreaks happen. Just like growing a plant. If

love = buy a plant
management = water plant
heartbreaks = the plant wilts
end relationship = plant dies

If you buy a plant (If you love a person), you must water it to make sure it won't wilt (manage the relationship to prevent heartbreaks) right? After you buy the plant, whether to water it or leave it to die is your choice.

But of course, you will protest that human is much more complicated that this case. Yes, maybe even if you water the plant, the plant still don't have the willpower to live (maybe even when you tried hard, you still can't get along well with you love ones, whoever the culprit is, maybe both).

So, you should start to look for the reason why the plant still wilts. Is it because of disease? Is there any medicine to cure the disease? Or is the sun too strong for this breed? Try solve it first, don't put your frus on the plant because at this fragile moment, not only you are fragile, your plant is fragile too. So be gentle even though you are really frustrated coz anger won't solve any problem. It creates more problem. If after many attempts, there's no way to cure the plant and the plant still chooses to die, at least you can say you tried your best.

In most cases, if both parties have the love for each other, I don't see why there's no way to work out on the relationship. You can condemn that I'm not in 'real' relationship, that I'm not in the 'real' scenario. But, this is what I'm telling myself and is holding tight to this belief.

Water or let it wilt. One day the plantlet will become a tree and you will be proud of yourself. =)

Hmm. I think Heng is right, love is always good. Love is a good intention. But I want to add: How love affects the couples can be both ways, good or bad, because it depends very much on how you communicate with your love ones and how both of you go through the ups and downs. But there's one exception. If one party stops loving another and stop maintaining, no matter how hard the other party tries, it just won't work.

I also dunno whether I say correctly or not. These are only theory. It's just like a review paper from few journals. It's always getting nasty when it comes to practical isn't it? lol.

Opinions anyone?

FRIM with company

Went to FRIM with company on Sunday (yesterday) despite my right calf muscle cramp. Had this muscle cramp the day before when I was sleeping and could not walk properly since then. But, I miss the smell of forest and summore I was the one who kept bugging JY to go with me. So, I went.

The first time I went to FRIM was when I was taking the elective subject called Ecology in Monash during my second year which was in 2004. I remember myself struggling to push myself continue walking up the slope, panting very heavily. This time, I think there's some improvement, no more panting and leg sore, thanks to my swimming training.

Before going into the forest

The turning point

Light piercing through

Pond for giant fish (I dun remember the name)

In forest

Bamboo canopy. Nice!

Elephant tree. Can you see the trunk?

The famous canopy in FRIM. The guide said everyone come here just to take a look at this canopy.

Big tree with big root. Dun ask me the name. lol. Dun remember. According to the guide, orang asli tap on the root to communicate with one another in the forest.

The canopy walk!

With the guide, Thomas, before going for the canopy walk.

JY and me, and the bridge behind us.

CK and me

On the way to the canopy walk I guess.

Waiting for the canopy walk

Waiting for the rest to come for the canopy walk

We're on the bridge! lol.

The concrete jungle, the real jungle and me on the canopy walk

Rizal on the bridge. This bridge is the most scariest of all. The planks are a bit senget. But I think Germany architecture should be trustworthy. Shouldn't be a problem.

Going down and out

Going down the hill

Avoiding the ratan down the hill.

A family picnicking near a waterfall

'Escaped' from forest

Marching towards our lunch! Yum!!

Spicy squid. This is the nicest dish of all the dishes. hehe.

The artwork by our lovely wild boar. They were burrowing for worms.

The forest we went. Taken from the hut we were having lunch.
