Fireflies by Owl City

Very fantasy-like. I can imagine millions of fireflies floating on grass lawn at night litting up the grass in the dark. And there's a dimly lit swing, a couple sitting there. Wind caressing their faces softly. And the stars above blinking with the fireflies. =) Nice right?

I'm not continuing my Korean class already. So sad.. But what to do. I have to save the money for other purposes already. Have to stop spending money on Korean language unless I hit a jackpot. lol! But if I hit jackpot the first thing I will do is not to get myself a Korean class though.

Hmm... If i hit a jackpot now I will go Korea. Second will be a Europe backpack trip. And then keep the rest. hehe..

Recently I dunno what I can write in my blog. Actually I got lots of things to blog about:

And most importantly my kai-ma (kai-ma is godmother in Cantonese. But she's actually a goddess called 妈祖) say 2010 is a good year for me, although at first will have difficulties, but afterwards everything, literally everything from work, finance, health, family, relationships etc etc, will be brilliant! Hehe.. Not really kai-ma la.. just that Cheng Yee says I every year must go Tian Hou Gong see her and tilik nasib with her, she say the Goddess is like my kai-ma lo...

Wah.. Just read a bit about 妈祖 (or also known as 天妃、天后、天上圣母、娘妈). She was human. Her dad is a public servant (巡检官). She's a Hokkien. She's actually from a family of 5, the youngest daughter in family, very intelligent, lived by a sea, love to swim, love to do charity, love to save fishing boats, is a hero in her village, everyone ask for her advice when they got trouble. She died when she was 28 yrs old. After she died people still see her saving fishing boats in the sea. So, people started to call her 神女 or 龙女. Throughout the years people give her different names. That's why she got so many names. But I always forgot what she's called whenever I wanna talk about her and eventually will say "neh.. my kai-ma lo..."

I every year must go find her to 求签 one.. Because every time also very accurate. Hehe. And last year I was scolded by her in the 签. Really very accurate. I really did something silly. And she scolded before I did the mistake. After I did already only I understand what she mean.

Dirty disposable chopsticks

I watched one video about the hidden dangers of disposable chopsticks manufactured in China before, but I didn't really care last time maybe because I was too ignorant back then.

Today saw one link in Facebook about a China news how disposable chopsticks are treated in China Hunan and Jiangxi before packaged. The process shocked me! (The video cannot be embedded here. So I find other related videos to embed here lo...)





They use many chemicals, which are toxic, to bleach and sterilize the chopsticks:

1. Treat the chopsticks in sulphur for 2 days to ensure no fungus will grow in the chopsticks. This eventually leads to deposition of sulfur dioxide in chopsticks. Sulfur dioxide, at high concentrations, reacts with moisture to form sulfurous acid which in sufficient quantities may harm the lungs, eyes or other tissues.

2. Dried in a charcoal room. From time to time the workers will take off their shoes and step onto the chopsticks to move the chopsticks so that they can dry faster.

3. Mix the chopsticks with paraffin wax which makes the chopsticks surface look clean and shiny.

4. Chopsticks which has fungal grow despite the sulfur treatment is further treated with hydrogen peroxide which kills fungus and also bleach the chopstick.


*I couldn't find health risks caused by paraffin wax and hydrogen peroxide.


Scary right? Next time bring your own chopsticks.

16 hours overnight incubation

So tired this week! I have been finishing work 8 something pm everyday. Which means 12 hours work everyday! And I swear I didn't take any 5 minutes off to rest, at all! (Except the less than 1 hour lunch time and some toilet time which was also in a rush)

And it's Friday night now! I'm gonna have a 16 hours overnight incubation for myself to compensate back my deprived sleep and sore body. Which will be until 3pm the next day. I wish I won't wake up at 7.30am tomorrow morning. (I always wake up automatically at 7.30am one, weekend or weekdays)

Actually for quite a period of time (6 months maybe?) a boy had been sitting in my heart. But now that I've gave up on him only I found that my life is getting so much more easier and I like this kind of feeling. No longer being carried away by the boy.

This feels like sipping on a good white coffee which makes me unable to resist from letting out a relief

Blissful weekend =)

Last weekend had been blissful. =)

Went for monthly meet but turned out Kuna's mum was admitted to hospital. So the first aid class was canceled. We then went to have dimsum at Jalan Ipoh while having a short meeting about updates of Raleigh. Wasn't really awake by then (summore me need time to warm up to break the ice to the outer world one.. lol), so most of the time I was dreaming during the meeting. Muahaha..

Then some of us went to kayak after the meeting at Taman Titiwangsa.

And I went to fly kite beside the lake they kayak with Pipo and June.



Then after kayaking, they had their kayak team photos.



And then we take group photos of the kayak and the kite. =)





(I like the way I look here. Muahaha.. looks like Ko Mi Nam in the Korean drama, I mean the hair looks like her. =P)

Kayaking is a very tiring game. I'd have to dry yourself under the sun and after kayaking you have to pour the water out of the kayak and carry them back to the storeroom. They are damn heavy wei!





Have to rest the hand from time to time to carry them back to the storeroom which is about 200m from the lake.

And then I had fun joining the nonsense talk in Zed's car. =)

Then Sunday I went to sing K with Kexin, Adam and Jia Yaw. Kexin came back from holiday from Japan. Miss her so much! But not as much as Adam la. Adam missed her so much that he asked me twice to arrange a meet up with Kexin. lol. So there we were, in Redbox singing Bad Romance by Lady Gaga and only remembered the "Rawr Rawr Oh la la" part. lol. We had lots of laughter thanks to joker Adam.

But Redbox was really tricky. They only let us sang for 2 hours which dampened our moods a lot! So we continued chatting about everything at Full House. Again we were dampened by the very yucky drinks. They said my mango milk shake tasted the worst which resembles the smell of toilet fragrance. The last time I went Full House I had bad experience with the food also. So, if you all wanna have good food DO NOT go Full House!! But the good about Full House is that the interior is so beautiful and we can take picture with the glasses displayed there. (Will put up the pictures as soon as Kexin upload it in FB, if she does).

After Jia Yaw left, 3 of us went to take picture with the crazy bar-like glasses, some shades, some ties and Adam with a bra-tube in front of his chest. Muahaha. Adam was very attractive that day. Two waitresses blushed when they saw him. One when ordering the food and one when taking photos of him wearing the bra-tube. Then 3 of us squeezed into the changing room and had loads of crazy photos like Adam showing his muscle, us acting like models. lol... All those tiny little crazy things made us burst us into laughter. =) We had fun in there. (Awww.. I really wish I can see how the photos look like. hehe..)

I love those crazy moments.

Then afterwards I went Zhuang's house to give tuition. After tuition and dinner, we chatted and took funny photos, again. But this time was by my part time photographer cousin. And there I got my Bruise Lee look photographed and photoshoped by him. Thanks so much JC! I love this photo so much!


I'm a very lousy actress lo. Kept rolling on the ground laughing when Zhuang and Mei started laughing at my facial expression. This is like the 3rd or 4th take. =P

I was supposed to imitate Bruce Lee when he says "ATTA!!"

After that Zhuang reminded me that my T-shirt says "Explain to me AGAIN why I need a boyfriend". Plus that expression on my face, it looks like I'm extremely fed up with people asking me "Do you have a bf yet? Why still not yet have bf? Get one la..." (especially during CNY....). So the photo says "ATTA!!~~ Ask me again and you'll be ATTA-ed!" lol... Kidding.
