Christmas trees

Christmas is around the corner and every shop in the malls had dressed themselves with Christmas trees.

I had collected some pictures of christmas trees to share here. Some are normal. Some are really creative.

Let me show you some normal ones first. Normal ones are decorated with ribbons and ornaments and some lights.

I think these two are overdo of Christmas tree decoration. Haha. Too many ornaments on the tree.

Then it will make the whole Christmas tree looks like an abandoned one.

Like the one in Midvalley which I don't really like. This Chrismas tree is about 80% covered by twigs and some dried maple leaves.

Couldn't take any closer shot. But the 'ornaments' are fake apples and oranges. Very creative indeed.

GAP's Christmas trees use wool balls as ornaments. Cool!

This shop sells wrapping papers and boxes and ribbons in Midvalley. The owner use their own ribbons to create a Christmas tree. Great idea.

Went to Pyramid for dinner yesterday with WY, Aud and GP. Then went to Halo Cafe with WY and GP. Very long time didn't go Halo already. Sitting there listening to songs and shouting chatting with friends. I regard this as luxury. =)

One Sweet Day

Told Heng I love this Korean song very much. And this is why I put this song in my blog.

The reason why I love this song very much is the rhythm sounds really happy. Most of the songs we listen to are normally sad songs. Very seldom there's happy song describing people in love, even much lesser with happy rhythm.

Kampar and Ipoh Trip

Was off to Kampar Perak last Saturday with family. It was a 3 days 2 nights trip. My sole purpose of this trip is to see the mountains again cuz I miss them sooooo much. Everyone has different purpose for this trip. Zhuang wants to visit our grandparents' cemetery at Tambun, mum misses her hometown, dad just follows, Mei wants to see the famous Tanjung Rambutan psychiatric house, aunt went just because Zhuang wants to visit the cemetery desperately.

So I was like a crazy fella taking pictures of the mountains. Dad was nagging saying I shouldn't waste the battery taking pictures from car because the photo quality won't be as good.

If I'm not mistaken this is when I was reaching Kampar. On the way to the town area for lunch.

Last time, every time I go Kampar I would stay at my grandparents house at Eastern Garden. But this time I stay at the Grand Kampar Hotel instead of Eastern Garden because my aunt staying at the house couldn't manage to get me a bed to stay (she only has 3 beds available). Another reason is that GK hotel looks really nice and new to me. hehe. (Aunt suggested to stay at hotel so that I can stay at Eastern Garden with my parents)

I wonder if I could climb up there and feel the cloud on top. It sure will be damn COLD and cool!!!!

Pikachu-like limestone captured on the way from Kampar to Ipoh

Poor limestone hill got butchered and cut into pieces. =(

We won't have these anymore if people continue cutting the hills down!!

I think few years later there won't be any limestone hills left.

Mum said luckily there's some temples built in this hill. So people won't cut down this hill as long as the temple and the monks are still there

The GK hotel is really grand and new. It's located near the UTAR Kampar.

Kampar has nice food. I was never hungry during this stay. Let me list out those nice food that I didn't take picture of. Cuz they didn't look special but they taste special. That's why didn't take the picture. I took soy sauce chicken rice, black pepper pan mee, curry glutinous rice, fish ball noodle soup, loh bak kou and CENDOL. =)


Something attracted me when I was walking in Pasar Malam the first night with my parents and aunt.

The stall is 'branded'! It's called Allan's Cake
This stall was even interviewed and published in newspaper because of their assorted-flavour tarts.

The uncle kept telling me everything about their shop. They come from Ipoh and their son (the one who created different flavours of tarts) is at Singapore opening another branch of Allan's Cake now.

This chocolate ball is really tasty. Sweet and salty at the same time. That's why only left the last one in the box. Luckily I manage to take the pic before it's being eaten. =P

Have you seen this type of method to make Apom Malik? Using these stoves?

And see the thin Apom Malik at the side. They taste like 'love letters' we eat during Chinese New Year.

They have the normal Apom Malik too. But the way the uncle made it was a bit different from those I had seen. Normally people spread the batter on the stove and then let it cooked and then spread corn and peanuts on top, right?

But this one is really different. The uncle spread the batter. Then he pour sugar on the batter and let it cooked. Then after that he spread magerine and peanuts on top. Very very nice. It's crusty outside but soft inside. And the peanuts smells nice.

I found some really special fatt kou (those cakes Chinese made for prayer) at the Pasar Pagi the second morning after my breakfast.

Creative-nya

Despite the nice food, there's a very bad tasting tong sui shop near the GK hotel. I didn't try their tong sui. Zhuang ordered peanut porridge from this shop and the dessert doesn't taste like peanut at all. So we took this picture of the shop. Hehe...

We went to Tambun for grandparents cemetery. I took some photos there. But duwan to show here la. Some people pantang to see cemetery pictures. Then after that we went to visit a relative in Ipoh. She's my great grandfather's brother's wife. Being a great grand generation, of course she is old. Really really old. She's 92 years old. But her hair is unbelievably dark. She said she doesn't dye hair. And she looks young!

On the way back to Tapah from Kampar, there's a very very big lake by the road. Ideal for kayaking. hehe.

2 cows sitting beside the road as if waiting for me to take their picture. So I did.

Was standing so close to the cow I was all shaken. Hehe. Summore dun dare to use flash. That's why the picture so blur. Hehe. I saw buffaloes walking at the field beside the road the next evening. But I couldn't take the picture cuz they were too far from road.

Interesting mind-reading game

This is cool. I don't know how it works but it somehow knows what numbers I choose and came out with the correct image.

Zhuang was terrified. She said it's a kind of dark magic. Sounds scary. But I still think it's cool.

For those who are curious try this out. For those who are faint-hearted, please do not try more than twice. lol. (If the dark magic word scares you)
